Love Revisited – Coming Home Part 45

Bette slowly blinked and stared at Tina.  How on earth was she blessed to be sent this forgiving person?

    “I know, T.”

Tina wiped the tears from Bette’s face and kissed her eyelids, her cheeks and lastly placed a soft, lingering kiss on her lips.

“I seriously doubt there will ever be a time, as long as I walk this earth, that I would stop loving you, baby.”

“I stopped feeling that anger and the need to reinforce it about a month before the sonogram.”  Tina walked over to the closet and took out a bag that was leaning against the wall and walked back to the bed and sat down next to Bette.

Tina took out a box from inside the bag and opened it.  “I had this done a couple weeks before that appointment was made.”

“Now, you need to know also that our afternoon of lovemaking was not planned.  It wasn’t until you took my hand in Dr. Wilson’s office that I knew something was happening.  I looked in your eyes and felt I was falling in love with you all over again.  Letting go of my anger allowed me to feel again, let me be honest with myself about my failures and also to be honest about how I truly felt about you and about us.

Tina took out a new frame.  At the bottom a small inscribed plaque simply said:

“forever” and the date of their commitment ceremony.

    “Are you upset with me?”

Bette knew Tina was speaking the truth.  Tina may jump to conclusions and get angry at times, but Tina was not a liar or someone who would make up a tale to justify her actions.

“No, T, I don’t feel I have a right to be upset.  But I’m still working on forgiving myself for causing you to feel that way about me, about us.”

“Just keep working on that, babe.  May I?”  Tina reached across and took the picture from Bette.  She took out the photo and placed it in the new frame. She first tore the note off and then ripped it into many pieces and threw it and the old frame away.

    1. Very nice flow to this chapter. You covered the passing of time effortlessly. Nice that Tina was able to know that even though the temptation was great, Bette didn’t look at the picture. Trust is built off of moments like that.

      And they’re off…!

    2. Glad Tina showed the picture and shared her feelings about it with Bette. That scene should be a scene in S3. Great job. It’s weird how Nancy doesn’t tell Bette about Kelly…hmmm I wonder why? Please post soon.
