Love Revisited – Coming Home Part 45

Love Revisited – Coming Home  Part 45

    Previously

It will be Bette’s blood that will seal the fate of one hate-consumed Faye Buckley.

Remarkably, the next five weeks went by and Bette and Tina survived.  Funny how caring for a newborn will lovingly consume your moments and exhaust you at the same time.  New parents didn’t do much clock watching or wondering what they will do to fill idle time – there was no idle time.

During this time they were able to get all of Tina’s things from her apartment.  When she closed the door for the last time she thought to herself it was a good thing to end that chapter in her life.

On one visit to the apartment she and Bette were in the bedroom.  They brought Angelica in the infant carrier and placed her on the bed.  She was very content to take in the sight of her moms moving about.

Bette was taking things from the closet.  As she laid a few things on the bed, she noticed Tina was standing at the dresser – hands in the drawer where Bette had seen the corner of a picture frame poking out from underneath panties.  She didn’t say anything, just let out the breath she didn’t realize she was holding, and turned to return to the closet.

    “Bette.”

*****, if it’s a picture of her and Helena I’m going to be sick, Bette thought.

“Could you come and sit here with me a moment?”

    *****, ***** – I hate this.

Tina was holding the picture frame to her chest as she sat down on the bed.

“I want you to know that with all that happened from the day of the sonogram until now, I never had a chance to fix this.  When you came over to pick up some clothes for me, I thought perhaps you saw it – I wasn’t sure, and that’s the reason I didn’t tear this note off now and toss it.  If you had seen it, I wanted to explain to you why.  It was written out of anger and hurt, babe.

“I saw the corner of the frame, T.  I didn’t take it out.”

    1. Very nice flow to this chapter. You covered the passing of time effortlessly. Nice that Tina was able to know that even though the temptation was great, Bette didn’t look at the picture. Trust is built off of moments like that.

      And they’re off…!

    2. Glad Tina showed the picture and shared her feelings about it with Bette. That scene should be a scene in S3. Great job. It’s weird how Nancy doesn’t tell Bette about Kelly…hmmm I wonder why? Please post soon.
