Amanda nodded her head. “That’s where I was the other day, I had to go and talk to some people and sign on the dotted line.”
“Wow!” Carmen grinned.
“I would have loved to come to LA with you, see what makes people tick over there but my heart lies in Atlanta. You know that and I know that. The same can be said with you and LA. I think it’s great that you are getting a chance to go back home. And I’m glad you have taken it with both hands.”
Carmen smiled. “I’m happy for you also. I just wish you were coming. Selfish aren’t i?”
Amanda shook her head “No your not Carm, I was going to ask you to come to Atlanta with me if your boss would let you work at the club there. But LA is a better offer and you get to sort things out with Shane”

“Woah”
“Carmen, you haven’t seen her for months now. You don’t know how you are going to react when you see her.”
“We aren’t together anymore. I don’t love her like I used to.”
“How do you know that? You might see her and the whole world might melt away”
“Or I could hate her”
Amanda smiled sadly “I don’t think that will ever happen.”

“So when do you go?” Carmen asked changing the subject.
“In three days. You?”
“Well they want to start getting things ready for the grand opening. The club is already and waiting for me and the other staff. We just need to start making the public aware that its opening.”
“So when do you leave?”
“Friday.”
“As in three days?” Amanda laughed
“Yeah, spooky eh?”
“That sure is.” Amanda looked at her watch and sighed “I have to go sort things out but would it be okay for me to come round and pick up my stuff?”
Carmen smiled, tears filling her eyes “Yeah. I can’t believe this is it?”
Amanda stood up and went around the table pulling Carmen up and into an embrace.

“I really like you too Carmen. I just think we both have another person filling our hearts and we need to let that person back in, to have it to themselves again.”
Carmen pulled away wiping the tears away. “Thank you.”
“Your welcome Carmen. Take care of yourself okay.”
Carmen nodded “You too and good luck with Sophie” she winked
Amanda laughed “Thanks and you too with Shane.”
