“Shane?”
Shane looked from her hands to Carmen “Yeah?”
“What you said the other night. Thank you. I do believe you about everything. And I would love to be friends. I think we have a long road ahead of us but I would like to be friends”
“Thanks, and I would like to be friends also”

They both smiled at each other

“So when you coming back to LA?”
“My contract doesn’t finish for a while. I just signed a 6month extension to the 2 I had left, last month. So not for a while.”
“Oh”
“I’ll come over for vacations, to see family. But otherwise my base is in New York”.
“Do you think you will ever return home?”
Carmen shrugged “I’m not sure. It all depends on my career. Tomorrow I could be here but my boss may want me to go to Atlanta or Chicago or somewhere. They have a chain of nightclubs, a new one opens every now and then”
“You better keep in touch and let me know everything that is going on. I know there is still that bridge of trust to cross and we have to build our friendship but I hope we don’t loose touch.”
Carmen smiled softly, she was beginning to like this new Shane. “You know Shane, this new you – who expresses her self is beautiful”
Shane blushed “Thanks”
“You coming to the club tomorrow night?”
“Yeah it’s my last night here so I wouldn’t miss it”
Carmen smiled “Awesome, I’ll let Tom and Jake know to let you in”
“Thanks, the concert tonight starts at 8pm”
“So who is it? This band?”
“There are a few playing, all British. Hang on let me look at the leaflet that came with the tickets”

Shane pulled out the leaflet letting Carmen see the heading “British Invasion”
Carmen laughed, “Nice eye catching header”
Shane grinned “Yeah.”
“I would have thought the tickets would have sold out months back”
“They kinda did.”
“So how’d you manage to get two more?”
“Ebay”
“Ebay? You’re joking”
“Nope” Shane grinned while Carmen laughed. “The bands that are playing are Kaiser Chiefs, The Kooks, Kasabian, Razorlight, Artic Monkeys and a few others.”
“Never heard of any of them”
“Me neither but they are meant to be some of the best. I just thought it would be interesting to go”.
“I’m looking forward to it.”

Shane smiled, maybe just maybe things would turn out alright after all.
