By halftime the score was New Port – 36, Central – 30. They wouldn’t have even been that close if Papi hadn’t picked it up and made all her shots, Shane on the otherhand was having a horrible first half. She only had 6 points and was getting burnt everytime Jordan went to drive. And it didn’t go over to well with Coach Long.

" Shane ! What the hell is wrong with you today ?! I suggest you get your head out of your ass and into the game or I will bench you ! " Coach Long threatened

Shane had her head down, she thought that maybe the reason she was so out of it today was because she was constitantly thinking about Carmen and not the game. And as hard as she tried she still couldn’t get Carmen out of her head.

" Damnit, I can’t go one fucking minute without thinking about her ! " Shane said to herself

Just then Shane looked up to were Carmen and Jenny were sitting, Shane smiled and waved at them. Carmen saw her and she waved back. Coach Long noticed this and wasn’t happy but decided to keep it on the down low for now.

" Is my being here interrupting her game ? " Carmen asked as she turned to Jenny

Jenny smiled and laughed " Of course not, Shane obviously likes you and she wants you to be her girlfriend. If she thought you would be an interruption she woundn’t have wanted something with you. "

" Are you sure ?? She just plays so much better than this and I kind of have this feeling it has to do with me ?? "

" Don’t worry about it, Shane will snap out of it, maybe today is just not her day, you know ?? "

" I guess your right … I just … you know … wish she wasn’t so nervous "

" We all do, but that’s just Shane, she worries and she cares. It can be a good thing, but a bad thing at the same time. "

" Yeah, I just hope she wins, it’s so important to her " Carmen said as her and Jenny directed their attention back to the court for the start of the second half.
