Chapter 79:

The Summer Before Tina’s Senior Year:

Tina has been getting ready for the past hour.  She is at Bette’s California apartment, which is where she spends most of her time when she is on break from school. She has an interview with the hiring manager at Betaville Studios for an internship in their post production department. If she gets the chance to work on some of their projects this summer, she could be offered a permanent position at the studio after graduation.  Tina has become quite the accomplished film editor at USC and is expected to have a great career in film once she graduates.

She is in the mirror changing her hair for the third time.

“So what do you think of this one?” She asks her girlfriend who is stretched out on her bed looking at the blond try in vain to improve upon perfection.

“Tina, it looks great.  Just like the first two styles. Whether you let your hair down or pin it up, you look gorgeous.”

“I have to look my best.  I want him to know that I take this seriously, although it is a non-paying internship.”

“Baby, that is going to be abundantly clear once you get on a roll about how much you enjoy editing.  When you told me about your latest project, I could see you have found something you absolutely love.  This hiring manager will see it as well.  What is his name anyway?”

“What?”  Tina asked trying to get her left tendril just right.

“The guy you’re interviewing with.  What’s his name?”

“Oh, the head of the post production department, Matthew Henderson.”

“Betaville is a small studio right?”

“Yeah.  It’s owned by some eccentric billionaire in Bel Air.  They specialize in documentaries and foreign films, but they are expanding to take on some big budget projects as well.”

“That sounds exciting babe.  Are you nervous?”

“A little bit.  Only because I know this could lead to a job after I leave school.”

“Well, just keep in mind that they are not the only game in town. You have 3 other interviews lined up. Besides, you live in the land of superstars, and you my dear, are one of the top film students in arguably the best film program in the world.  Just be yourself T.”
