    End of the journey

    “You okay babe ? “

     

     

     

     

     

    Tina nodded -the love she had for her children was limitless. When Jennifer had been taken ill when she was only three weeks old and they had feared they would lose her their world had crumbled. But Jennifer had pulled through and was as healthy as her noisy sister.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    She looked at Bette – if giving birth had started the transformation of one Bette Porter – then the arrival of her daughters had completed it

    It was hard to believe that this woman who was a despot at CAC who had destroyed their marriage with a sordid affair was now the woman who totally spoilt her children and who loved taking them for long walks in the park to feed the ducks.

     

     

     

     

     

    Their love was strong – it had to be three babies were damn hard work even with a nanny and their friends. The long sleepless nights had taken their toll on both of them and they had both been ill in the twelve months since the twins had made their pre-Christmas arrival.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    It was still hard – their lives had to planned like a military operation. Tina was 100% certain of Bette’s love for her. There was no woman on the planet who had what Tina had – the unfailing love of Bette Porter.

     

     

     

     

     

    Tina moved closer – still with Danny holding her and gently kissed Bette. Bette grinned

     

     

    “Any reason for that ?”

     

    “For making crazy animal noises “

     

     

     

    “That all ? “

     

     

     

     

    “For being the best wife and mother over the past year “

     

     

    Bette raised her eyebrow

     

     

     

     

     

    “At times it would have been calmer in Beirut but there is nowhere else on the planet that I would want to be than with you and our squad . Thank you “

     

     

    She returned the kiss and whispered

     

     

     

     

     

    “Tonight when we have the house to ourselves and Team KP are all in sleepy land I am going to lie between your legs and make long slow love to you “

    16. When Dan came in and said Alice peed on the floor, I thought that he was talking about the human Alice. But then I remembered that he wanted to name the puppy Alice. Loved the kittens part being a cat person. Sweet and hopeful. Sorry to see this end but it was a blast while it lasted.

    45. I can hardly blame the puppy given the prospect of being named after Alice. Well, Ally, all’s well that ends well. Really sweet and of course we all wish we could create such a loving family for ourselves (children optional, personally I’d rather have the dog. As the newly late, great Anita O’Day used to sing “Thank you, thank you, thanks for the boogie ride”.
