Dana volunteered to go and pick up dinner, Alice bathed Jake and got him into his pj’s. They were just settling down to eat when the phone rang.

Alice – hello

Will – hiya Al, how’s things going?

Alice – hey, good thanks, when Is your flight again

Will – Monday, I should be arriving about 2.30ish I think

Alice – cool, email me the flight details and we will come and pick you up, oh can you do me a favour

Dana knows who Alice is talking too and hasn’t yet figured out Alice and wills relationship, she listens to alice’s side of the conversation trying to get some clues on just what’s happening between them.

Will – yeah sure what do you need

Alice – well, on the second shelve of the bookcase next to the piano, there’s a box of discs labeled photos, can you bring them with you, I forgot them and I need them to show my mother should she actually want to meet her grandson.

Will – not a problem al

Alice – hold on I think jakes gonna burst if he cant talk to you soon, you want talk to your dad Jake

Jake – d’ah yeah of course

Will – hey jakey are you behaving

Jake – yes dad i’m being good and not playing mum up

Will – good boy, I miss you ….

As Jake and his father chat, Alice and Dana start to eat their food and drink a little wine. Slowly they start to relax and they start to get used to being in eachothers company again.

Will – that’s good son, can you pass me back to your mum I need to speak to her, hey Jake love you

Jake – love you too dad, bye  he passes the phone back to Alice.

Alice – ok al before I go and i’m not nagging or anything but have you made the appointment with the specialist yet

Alice – no not yet i’ve been a bit busy, I promise I’ll do it next week

Will – ok, but please al don’t forget, I worry that’s all.

Alice – don’t worry, its going to be ok.

Will – ok I wont mention it again. I gotta go. Take care I love you

Alice – I love you too bye

Dana was somewhat taken aback when she heard Alice say this, Alice looked distracted and sad for a few seconds before she looked up. Alice and will had always said I love you to eachother because they did, but not in the way that Dana was thinking. They were more like brother and sister.

That night they sat and talked, talked about all sorts of thing, but never about what happened, that was still to painful for Alice, she had buried it all and didn’t want to discuss it at the moment. Dana tried to broach the subject a few times, she desperately wanted to explain her actions and hopefully get some sort of forgiveness but Alice rapidly changed the subject, so Dana decided to leave it well alone for the time being at least.

The next few days passed very quickly. Carmen, Shane and Dana helped Alice unpack her stuff, they all then went off to the BBQ at Bette and Tina’s.  Jake and angelica played happily. Jake could often be found talking to Dana, he really had taken a shine to her and thought she was nice. He knows he has seen her somewhere before but he cant think of where it is.

Jake – Dana have you ever been to London

Dana – yes Jake once  last year

Jake – what did you do when you were there

Dana – I played tennis at Wimbledon

Jake – he thought for a bit and then said thats it, I knew id seen you before. Me and mum went last year we saw you play, and we watched you on TV.

Dana – wow, so did you enjoy it

Jake – yeah I thought it was cool, i’m not sure that mum did though cos she looked kinda sad that day. – you wanna play in the pool

Dana – yeah sure Jake

Dana was wondering about what Jake had said, Alice had gone to Wimbledon! Alice didn’t go to watch sport, could it have been to see her. Danas head was now even more confused than it normally was.
