    Author Notes:

    Jake ran into his mother’s bedroom and launched himself onto the bed.
    Jake – mum wake up wake up
    Alice – ummmph morning sweetie, what’s the matter?

     

    Alice pulled back slightly looked into Danas eyes.

    Alice – I’m so sorry, it just had to be that way you know.

    Dana – you don’t have to apologize al, it was all my fault, I was such an idiot,

    They both stood there staring at eachother, tears in their eyes, when Shane comes over, she coughs

     

    Shane – well how about we sit down and grab a drink yeah,

    Alice – good idea, very good idea.

     

    They get over to the table, but just before they sit down, Alice picks Jake up, smiles

    Alice – For those of you who haven’t been charmed by my gorgeous boy yet, she says looking at Dana, this is my son Jake.

    Jake – hi,  mum please can I have a drink now,  ive been good, ask Dana, ive been waiting ages and I’m real thirsty.

    They all look at eachother and at Jake – so Alice

     

    The group of women all sit and chat away happily,  the conversations took their time and were a little strained to begin with but with in no time at all they were laughing and joking with eachother like the old days.

     

    Shane – sneaky al, so this is Jake, geez I thought you had gone and got yourself married to some English guy

     

    Shane – so how old are you then Jake?

    Jake – looks at his mum, im 4 and a half

    Alice – that’s right honey

    Shane –  whispers to alike – I know my math’s is not good al but you left LA 5 years ago nearly to the day, that means that you know you were pregnant before you left LA.

    Alice – feeling uncomfortable, her moods changed, and Shane notices this. – can we talk about this later.

    Shane nods.

    Jake – mum, when’s dad gonna get here,?

    Alice – not until next week honey, he has to work, I’m sure he will call you tonight.

     

    Bette and Tina look at Alice. Dana can’t look at her, it’s too much. She was happy when she realized Jake was, well Jake, but now there seems to be another man in the picture, jakes dad, but that doesn’t mean, ohh god Dana just stop thinking for 5 minutes

    4. What a pleasant surprise! I love that Dana is sweating it out because she thinks there is a guy in the picture. I also like the mellow tone you’ve given Alice – must be motherhood… :-)

    7. That’s the first thing I tought…the father of Jake must have been one of the one night stands of Alice’s…and so it is. I loved this chapter!! So will Dana win Alice’s heart (*who wouldn’t melt by seeing the interaction between Dana and Jake :P*)?? :D

    14. This story is great. I like the entirely different take on the whole group. I can’t wait till the beach! It’s gonna be Danish in the making. Yes I’m sure they’ll have some bumps to go over but it’s always going to be them in the end.
