    Jake ran into his mother’s bedroom and launched himself onto the bed.
    Jake – mum wake up wake up
    Alice – ummmph morning sweetie, what’s the matter?

     

     

    With the conversation turning to jakes father and the looks she is getting from the everyone, Alice is starting to feel uncomfortable

    Alice – well guys this has been great but I really must make a move home, someone here needs to tidy his room before dinnertime.

    Jake – oh mum

     

    Bette – Alice what are you and Jake up to on Saturday afternoon, it’s just that we are having a BBQ at home, it would be great if you and Jake could come. Angelica and some of her friends will be there so the kids could entertain themselves. Leave us grown up to catch up.

     

    Alice – yeah that would be great but, we have some stuff arriving from London on Saturday morning and I really need to unpack it.

     

    Shane – look al, me and Carmen will come over and give you a hand,

    Alice – I couldn’t ask you to do that Shane im sure you have better things to do

    Jake – Dana are you coming to our house on Saturday too?

    Dana – umm I could, sure. If it’s ok with your mum

    Jake – can she please?

    Alice – are you sure that you all have time for this, because honestly I can sort it out.

    Shane – look al, please let us help we all want to ok.

    Alice – well allrightly then, Saturday it is. She grabs a napkin and and pen, writes down her address and cell number and hands it Shane.

    Shane – ok great, I’ll call you Friday and you can let me know what time

     

    They say their goodbyes and Alice heads outside towards her car.  Dana runs up behind Alice.

    Dana -Hey al ?

    Alice – shit Dana you scared me

    Dana – oh sorry, look I was wondering, if you well, you and Jake, were like errm, well you know, oh god… it doesn’t matter,

    Dana turns to walk away, when she feels Alice‘s hand on her arm turning her around.

    Alice – what are you trying to say Dana?

    Dana – well I wondered if you and Jake wanted to do something tomorrow if you weren’t to busy or any thing, its just that I have angelica for the day and we are going to the beach and …

    Alice – smiling at Dana and her rambling – god she so fucking cute when she does that – you want to go to the beach tomorrow Jake. – he nods – yes wed love to Dana.

     

    Dana – you do? Cool ok, ummm I’ll pick you at say 10 you think you can be awake for that al

    Alice – ha ha very funny, I will have you know that im an early riser these days, I don’t really have a choice, she says looking at Jake and laughing.

    Dana – ok I’ll see you tomorrow bye

    Alice – Dana, you don’t have my address

    Dana – its ok I’ll get it from Shane. See you tomorrow Al.

     

    Alice – yeah see you tomorrow Dane.

     

    Alice and Jake got in the car and drove off, Jake waving at Dana. Dana stood there with the biggest grin in the world on her face. This was a day that she thought would never ever come. She was happier now than she had been in the last 5 years.

    7. That’s the first thing I tought…the father of Jake must have been one of the one night stands of Alice’s…and so it is. I loved this chapter!! So will Dana win Alice’s heart (*who wouldn’t melt by seeing the interaction between Dana and Jake :P*)?? :D

    14. This story is great. I like the entirely different take on the whole group. I can’t wait till the beach! It’s gonna be Danish in the making. Yes I’m sure they’ll have some bumps to go over but it’s always going to be them in the end.
