    Living for Love: Chapter 18

Dana asked, ‘How’s he doing from the recovery?’

Shane replied, ‘The guy can’t drive, have sex, and he’s getting grief at work. Other than that, he’s in the dumps.’

Max didn’t need any pity or sympathy. This was the kind of thing that needed support and respect. You can’t make a major life changing decision, endure hardships at work, and not earn the respect of your friends who turn out to be your only family.

Jenny said, ‘Well, hey. How about this? Let’s give a toast to Max. Come on, guys.’

They all agreed and raised their glasses.

Jenny said, ‘To Max. Stay strong and stay proud.’

They all clinged their glasses and said, ‘To Max.’

Kit stepped up to the stage and said, ‘Hellooooooo, Ladies! I am here to bring you some exciting entertainment for your evening. And who knows, you might get some action later on tonight, you know what I’m saying? For those of you who have not heard, we are in the presence of greatness.’

Not knowing who she was talking about, Dana just stared at Kit while she went on.

Kit continued, ‘This woman has moved to LA in order to start over in America. And what better place could there be than…right here in Los Angeles, California?’ Then she gave a thumb up and got a round of applause for the cheap pop. Was she trying to drag this thing on or just set people up and let them down?

Kit asked, ‘How many shows have we seen end? Some before their time and some just left us hanging. "Dark Angel", "Kindred: The Embraced", "Buffy: The Vampire Slayer", "Angel", "The Wonder Years", and so on.’ How much more could these women take?

Kit finished, ‘Well, that is about to change. Be we have, here tonight, a woman who will not tuck her tail and hide. So, ladies, "The Planet" is proud to introduce to you, the people, all the way from London, England, the former star of "HEX", Miss Thelmaaaaaaa Bates!’ played by Jemima Rooper.

Everybody in "The Planet" gave Thelma Bates a standing ovation with many wolf howls and thunderous applause. Dressed in her red dress from a guest appearance in "Sugar Rush", Thelma Bates came jumping out of the curtains and yelled, ‘Helloooooo, Los Angeles!’
