Life with Mom and Tina Ch 87

"No we don’t." Bette said. Tina looked at her. Bette was thinking hard trying to disprove her. "Oh wait maybe we do." Bette said with a smile.

"That’s what I thought." Tina said.

"Well at least they are getting along and not fighting. I am glad they are looking forward to making the national team." Bette said.

"What are we going to do if we they don’t both make it?" Tina asked.

"We are going to support them both. You can’t tell anyone that I told you this but Jess already has a spot on the national team." Bette said.

    "How?" Tina asked.

"Apparently she was approached by the coach while I was gone and was offered a position and a spot on the Olympic team in two years." Bette said.

"How did you find this out?" Tina asked.

"The coach of the national team called while you guys were gone for Jess. She was confirming Jess’s sizes and some other information." Bette said.

"Does she know that you know?" Tina asked.

"No and I want to keep that way." Bette said.

"Why hasn’t she told us? That is a really big deal." Tina said.

"I don’t know she has changed so much, and she is still changing. Sometimes I have a hard time figuring her out." Bette said.

"When we got the phone call that said that your plane had gone down. She completely withdrew from everyone except for Angelica. She started sleeping in the shed. She could barely look at me. The feelings were mutual. Even though I didn’t want to feel that way it just happened. Every time she walked into the room I saw you. I still do. The boys often would call her mommy when they saw her out the corner of their eyes. It was a hard time for all of us. I wish I had handled it differently, but I change what happened I can only try and make up for the way acted." Tina said.

"I know. Let’s just go to sleep. We will talk to her about it in the morning." Bette said setting both her and Tina’s books aside. They held each other and fell asleep.

    1. Yay I’m first! As usual a story well told! It’s nice to see that Bette is “maturing” as a parent, as is Tina. Keep the love and the good time rollin!

    2. Great way to bring Jess back into the fold and it is good to see that this experience has mellowed Bette out. I am surprised that Bette doesn’t want to attend the party for Ellen Barnes, maybe she and Tina will make a surrprised appearence :o)

    3. I knew that I was hanging with the wrong family. Bette and Tina have finally mellowed some over time. It nice to see Jess opening up to her moms. Thanks for the post.
