“Okay.” He said and went into the kitchen.

Teddy watched as Jess tried yet again to put Angelica down. He was started to feel afraid.

“Sissy why won’t she let you put her down?” He asked standing next to her.

“I don’t know buddy.” she said.

“Is it because you are different.” He asked.

“What do you mean different?” She asked.

“I don’t know since you got hurt you have been different.” He said looking up at her.

    “I don’t understand.” Jess said.

“You don’t play with us anymore.” Ian said sticking a sucker in his mouth.

“That’s because I have been busy. I can’t be here forever.” Jess said.

“She cries when you try to put her down because every other time you have left after.” Ian said.

“Well I am not leaving this time.” Jess said.

“She doesn’t know that.” He said.

    “Promise?” Teddy asked.

“I promise” She said hugging them.

“Will you play a game with us?” Teddy asked.

“Which one do you want to play?” Jess asked.

“How about candy land?” Ian asked.

“No I wanna play Hi Ho cherry-o.” Teddy argured.

“I have an idea why don’t I teach you guys how to play a new game.” Jess said.

    “What?” Ian asked.

    “Its called poker.” she said.

“That’s the game that everyone plays during family night.” Teddy said.

    “That’s right.” Jess said.

“But they never let us play.” Teddy said.

“Well one day they will and you will know how to play and how to beat them.” Jess said.

“How will we do that?” Teddy asked.

“Because I know all their secrets and I am going to teach them to you guys.” Jess said.

    “Okay.” Teddy said.

“Go get some playing cards.” Jess instructed. Teddy got and went over to a draw in end table in the living room to look for cards.

“Is Laurie coming over?” Ian asked.

    “Yes.” Jess said.

“We like her better than Justin.” Ian said.

“Oh you do.” Jess said smiling.

“Yeah she’s cool.” Teddy said standing beside Jess with cards in his hands.

    1. Happy birthday! This was an excellent chapter. The boys realized that Jess was not the same person as before the accident. I wonder if they have told the doctor this information. Loved the hotel room scene with Bette and Tina. Jess alone with Laurie that would be very difficult to follow the house rules. Glad that you posted tonight.

    2. Happy…belated birthday now I guess. lol I forgot how old the boys are now. I keep thinking they are 3 for some reason. O.o I hope they get to play poker with the adults soon and kick their butts. lol

    3. Happy Birthday. You are a Taurus also.Mine is the fifth of May. Have a good one. The boy notice the different in Jesse. They might need to get her Back to the Dr, soon. thanks

    4. Jennifer Beals has remarked upon Bette’s diffident nature, the lack of confidence, the emotional ambivalence that lurks beneath the self-assured facade she projects. We saw this for the first time on The L Word, seeing Bette’s dismay after she and Tina fought at the Planet over ‘ze penis…”. Bette seems the strong one, but Tina totally controls her with her reactions. What does this have to do with this story? When I read the confident manner with which your Bette comports herself in bed, knowing her lover’s needs and dispatching her to paradise in a timely and confident fashion, I wished it were true for the show. …Alas, if wishes were horses, I would bet on and win a fortune at the Kentucky Derby. …Thanks for that pleasant interlude! Wonder what Jess is about to get herself into? Thanks!
