Life with Mom and Tina Ch 43
“I had no idea. I thought she was just running. I wonder why she didnt tell us.” Tina said.
“I tried to get her to bring you guys when she finished the mural out front during spring break but she would hear nothing of it.” Michelle said.
“We thought she was at the ranch with her aunt.” Tina said.
“Would you like to talk to her while I take my foot out of my mouth.” Michelle said.
“No its okay. I should have known that there was something going on when she called and there were kids screaming in the background.” Tina said.
“Oh really what did she say.” Michelle.
“That they were at a park.” Tina said.
“Oh well we are glad to have Jess she is the kids favorite volunteer. They ask all day when in Jess coming back. I see some one getting ready to get into trouble.” Michelle said.
“Is it all right I watch.” Tina asked.
“Sure.” Michelle said walking away. Tina watched Jess paint with the kids for about 45 min before Jess realized she was there.
“Hey guys before I have to go I want you to meet some one.” Jess said. All the kids looked up from their paintings and drawings. “Guys this is my mom Miss Tina. Can everyone tell her hello?” She continued.
“Hello Miss Tina.” All the kids said.
“Okay guys I have to go but I will see you at the game this afternoon okay, and remember to clean up after yourselves when you get down and to hang your pictures up on the wall.” Jess said walking towards Tina. A little girl ran up to her.
“Jess please dont go cant you stay a little longer.” She begged.
“Im sorry Lizzy I cant I have to go to class but I promise I will come see before and after the game okay.” Jess said.
“Okay.” Lizzy mumbled.
“Hey what do I say about promises?” Jess asked.
“You never make a promise you cant keep because making a promise is like creating a law and no one is supposed to break laws.” Lizzy said.
“So if I promise something then” Jess said.
“Then you mean it.” Lizzy said with a smile.
“Thats right. I will see you later okay. Go play.” Jess said.
“Okay bye Jess.” Lizzy said running off to play. Jess walked up to Tina who was staring at her.
“What?” Jess said getting her stuff from the cubby by the door. “Come on if you keep standing around you are going to make me late again.” Jess said walking out.
“Can I ask you a question?” Tina asked.
“Sure.” Jess said walking back towards the house.
“Why do you come out here so early?” Tina asked.
“Because the kids have school just like I do, but they get up at 5 and they have time to kill before the teachers get here. During the down time some of them were getting in trouble so I suggested that we do something to occupy their time. Thus the art class.” Jess said.
“Oh.” Tina said.
“You arent mad I didnt tell you are you?” Jess asked.
“No, I am really proud of you.” Tina said.
“Okay Ill race you back to the house.” Jess said taking off.

Great, uplifting story.
Wow it seems Jess has found her place playing with those kids. It seems like we have a lot to learn about this young lady. =D
Jess is one special child. Bette did an excellent job with her. Tina just stepped into the picture and gave her the home that Jess never quiet had. I hope that you will continue with this story.
Aww. Jess turned out to be a great kid. Keep on posting please!
Jess is full of surprises and its interesting that she is always quiet about the things that she does that are important.
This is such a wonderful family story, I love it
Wow, Jess is quite a young lady and a chip off Tina’s block, caring heart and compasion for others. Thanks for the post and really enjoying the story.
Jesse is like Tina not to be her birth Mom. Yet so like Bette. that kid is great thanks
Great chapter, Jess seems to be growing into a well balanced and responsible young lady. The factthat she doesn’t feel a need to tout her own horn for doing something good, speaks to hersense of self worth and inner strength. Good job B&T in raising this one. Please continue :o)
