Life with Mom and Tina Ch 155

    "Alice! Alice!" Tina yelled.

"What? What’s going on?" Alice said staggering out of Shannon’s room.

"Did you hear Jess leave?" Tina asked.

"I didn’t hear her come in either." Alice said.

"I worried she was upset." Tina said.

"Tina relax. I sure she just went..(Alice crossed to the window.) Yeah see she’s right there in that lounge chair." Alice said.

"What is she doing out there?" Tina asked.

"She often is out there until two or three. I think she’s drawing. If she doesn’t come in she’ll just go next door and sleep on Shane’s couch." Alice said heading back to bed.

Tina continued to watch Jess from her window for a few more minutes before going downstairs. She walked outside.

"Can I see?" Tina asked sitting down.

"You’re going to look at them as soon as leave them anyway." Jess said handing it over.

"I do not. Mom does that." Tina said.

"Yeah and then she shows them to you." Jess said. Tina opened the book. Tears started to appear in her eyes.

    "its amazing." Tina said.

"I was waiting to finish it until I found out if it was a boy or a girl. Besides it’s just a sketch." Jess said.

"Does that mean you are going to paint it for the baby?" Tina asked.

"Maybe. You know I don’t have a problem with the new baby. I figure what’s one more to the mad house. Besides with Shannon gone now there’s room for one more." Jess said.

"Man she sure is a kicker." Tina said rubbing her stomach.

    "Can I feel?" Jess asked.

"Of coarse. Here let me see your hand." Tina said and took Jess’s hand and placed it on her belly.

"Wow. Wait she stopped." Jess said pulling her hand away.

"Yeah but she started back again." Tina said. Jess put her hand back.

"And she stopped again. I don’t think she likes me yet." Jess said.

"I think its quite the opposite." Tina said.

"What do you mean?" Jess asked.

"You are the only one that she stops kicking for." Tina said.

    "Really?" Jess said.

"Really." Tina said making a funny face. Jess laughed.

"Don’t do that. It makes you look goofy." Jess said standing up. She headed for Shane’s.

"Where are you going?" Tina asked.

    "To bed." Jess said.

"Your bed is up there." Tina said.

"Yeah. Um. I can’t sleep up there by myself." Jess said.

"Al is up there." Tina said. Jess looked at her like yeah right.

    "She snores." Jess said.

"You don’t have to go to Shane’s." Tina said.

"No offense but that couch you let Mom pick is wicked uncomfortable." Jess said.

"Sleep with in the bed with me. Maybe if you’re there she will sleep instead of kick." Tina said.

    "Okay." Jess said.

"That’s a sweet story." Josie said.

"You never told me that story, and that couch was comfortable." Bette said. Tina and Josie laughed.

    1. Maybe that couch was not comfortable after all. Jess was always the one to feel left out after each child came into the family. She became the one that everybody went to when in pain or hurting for other reasons. She is a special young woman just like her moms.

    2. I have followed this story from the beginning and have loved all that you have written. Laughter mostly, but deep emotions have been felt with each chapter. You have embraced this family and have so wonderfully portrayed so many life experiences in this one story. I read Seahurst’s “If it is meant to be” story and anticipted every chapter as I do yours today. It is often said, but I truly mean this, as long as you write, I’ll read!!! You as well as the other writers have kept these characters alive in so many ways and we are so grateful for quality fan fiction to keep us going in between seasons.
