Chapter 28
“Josh, could you maybe drive me to Bette’s house instead?” Tina asks.
“Yeah, sure. Why?” He asks.
“I just have to make sure we’re good. I can’t let this little thing ruin what we have. I’m sure I’m blowing it up but. I can’t loose her in any way.” Tina says and dries a tear that has found its way down her cheek.
“I’m sure you haven’t lost each other. Tina it was a little argument. You’ll get pass this in no time.” Josh says and gives her a comforting smile.
They stop outside Bette’s house.
“Do you want me to wait for you, to drive you home afterwards?” Josh asks.
“No, you don’t have to do that. I don’t know how long I’ll be. I’ll see you tomorrow at school. Thank you Josh.” Tina says and gives him a hug.
“Anytime.” He replies.
Tina exits the car and grabs her bag and her crutch and walks slowly up to the front door.
Inside Bette sleeping on the couch. With take out food and a bottle of wine standing half empty on the table.
Outside Tina is knocking and ringing the bell.
“Come on Bette, I know you’re in there. Your car’s here.” Tina says out loud.
Inside Bette is starting to wake up and listening for the sounds that woke her up. She hears it again, there’s a knock on the door. She slowly stands up and walks over to the door and opens it. She’s surprised to see Tina there.
“Tina? What are you doing here?” Was the first sentence that came out of her mouth.
“I’m here to apologize to you. But if you don’t want me here I’ll go.” Tina says and looks seriously into Bette’s eyes.
“No, no, come in.” Bette says and opens the door further to let Tina in.
Tina sees the food and the wine. She turns towards Bette. She also sees the tear stained face.
“What’s with the wine?” She asks concerned.
“One of those days.” Bette replies and walks into the kitchen with the left overs and the bottle of wine. “Can I get you anything?” She asks softly.
“Is there any left overs you can spare?” Tina asks.
“Sure, let me heat it up for you.” Bette says and takes down a plate from the cupboard and carefully put the left overs delicately onto the plate and then into the microwave for a few minutes.

I am glad that Tina did not know how much Bette is worth. This way Bette will know for sure that it her and not the money that Tina loves. Tina does not seem the type to care about money though.
