Let love lead the way chapter 3
Dana retreated back to the bathroom with clean clothes in hand to finally get dressed as Alice got out of bed and started dressing in the bedroom.
Dana returned to the bedroom just as Alice was tying her shoelaces. ‘Wow! You look great Alice’ Dana stammered at seeing the blonde in some tight jeans and a figure hugging t-shirt with what looked like a bird on one of the sleeves. ‘Aww, thanks Dana, you’re sweet’ Alice smiled, before continuing ‘You look good too’.
‘Wanna go somewhere for breakfast?’ Dana asked in an effort to change the conversation before it became awkward. ‘Sure thing’ Alice agreed. Soon they were on their way to the closest on-campus cafeteria.
Dana chose a healthy option of some fruit and wholemeal toast while Alice had a plate of bacon, scrambled eggs and French toast. They made light conversation throughout their meal about their courses; Alice studying a joint honours degree in English and Creative and Professional writing and Dana with her sports.
They agreed that they were glad they had met one another, as neither of them knew of anyone else who was attending this university. ‘What’s your favourite sport Dane?’ ‘Dane? I’ve never been called that before! But I like it. Oh my favourite sport would have to be tennis. What about yourself?’ Well, Dane, I don’t do sports really though I must admit I watch tennis a lot, but that’s only because I have a thing for Amelie
Mauresmo.’ Alice giggled and blushed slightly. Dana laughed and nodded her head, ‘Yeah, that’s always a good reason to watch women’s tennis’. Time soon flew as the young women became lost in conversation and by the time they left the café it was gone 2pm.
They headed away from the campus so they could explore the surrounding areas that were still unknown territory for them at this point. They found lots of take-aways and businesses on their travels but then they came across a park so they decided to go and enjoy the last of the summer sun before autumn set in.
They found an empty bench that faced the direction of the sun and sat down for a while. They watched the world go by as they sat in a comfortable silence until rain clouds appeared and they decided to head back to their halls of residence before the downpour began.
They were about two minutes too slow and by the time they reached the dry of Kent house they were soaked to the bone. They raced up to K218 to dry off as quickly as possible before they caught a cold.
Once they had changed into dry clothes they went to the kitchen to see what food they had in their cupboards that they could make quickly.
Dana had plenty of pasta and offered to make Alice a meal aswell. Alice agreed on the grounds that she would return the compliment the next night. Alice sat down in the kitchen and just watched Dana doing her thing in the kitchen. Dana was a good cook. Alice was impressed by the speed Dana was going and how she had everything under control.
Alice in the kitchen was usually a disaster but she didn’t want to tell Dana this just in case she laughed. Alice wanted Dana to approve of everything she did.
They ate and enjoyed their meal, played some more card games and once again retreated to their beds for the night, ahead of the registration day tomorrow.

Awesome Job on the new post, considering how busy you have been! I like picturing them from the beginning, cant wait to see what happens next. Keep it going and know that help is always around when you need it. PPS! :D
Great new chapter, natasha! I love how you are showing how they are both physically attracted to each other but that both are working on building the friendship. Can’t wait to see what’s next. PPS!
dayum. Danish is so cute! thanks
aww this is so cute! Did I not comment on thew last chapter? My bad, I’m pretty awful with comments in general. That doesn’t reflect at all on how much I like your story, though. This is a very realistic beginning to their relationship, I’m interested to see how it progresses! I just hope Alice doesn’t burn a kitchen/house down in her efforts to impress Dana with her culinary skills, lol.
this is great – love stories that cover the start of the Danish relationship. Thanks for keeping their memory alive and kicking.
