Let It Happen – Final Chapter

“Bette, I will cook here for free anytime you want me to,” as she stood up, arms outstretched, twirling around.  “Please, please call me.  Even if all you or Tina want is just a snack.  This kitchen is heaven!” she exclaimed.

Bette laughed, enjoying Lara’s reaction.  “So I take it you found everything you’re going to need?”

“I may need some guidance with all apps in the control panels,” she started, and then smiled as Bette shook her hand, as if to say, “That’s easy!”  “Otherwise, yes I think I will indeed have a blast cooking here!”

Tina walked in with two handmade bisque porcelain jars as Lara exclaimed.

She smiled at the redhead’s enthusiasm.

Bette laughed again, “Well, it’s all due to Tina that this kitchen has come out so well.” Tina was shaking her head, mouthing to Bette that the brunette had a lot to do with things as well.  She pulled a bar stool up next to Bette while opening the box of a scented candle.

“Baby, I want you to tell me if this scent will work for tomorrow… I smelled this in the parfumerie in the Plaza the other night, and was just blown away… just so romantic, I thought.”

Bette arched an eyebrow, and gave Tina a slow wink, “And you want to test it now?”

Tina shook her head, smiled, and then gave Bette a slow wink of her own.  Bette. Bette.  You don’t know what I have planned for you tomorrow.

The blonde carefully dropped the candle pillar into one of the porcelain jars.  She lit it with a match, and they all exclaimed softly as the candlelight caused the jar to glow from within.  In just a few seconds the beguiling combination of hints of jasmine, oud, and soft oriental notes began to float out of the jar.

Bette shut her eyes, inhaling the delicately textured scent.  It suited their home so well, as if custom-designed for them.  She could imagine how it would all work tomorrow, together with the flowers Tina was arranging.  Tina was really a genius with these things – flowers, candles, creating a romantic setting.  And she knew from personal experience just how seductive Tina’s ideas in this area could be!

“Perfect, T.  You are a certifiable genius with these…and many other things.”
