Not standing it anymore she excused herself.

– I’m going outside for a smoke –she said motioning Molly to stand up-

– Babe, you didn’t say a word since you got here and you’ve already smoked half of the pack

– this is the last one, I’ll be right back.

God she hated whenever Molly decided to start counting how many cigarretetes she had smoked.

Carmen noticed Shane leaving the room and decided to follow, tired of her so called friend atittude. Besides she rathered talk to her alone than having everyone witnessing. She got up from Papi’s lap saying she was going to the bathroom and made her way to the porch finding the lanky girl leaned against the stairs that connect the house with the yard. Shane saw Carmen coming and threw the white stick already knowing how much it bothered her. Neverless she kept looking down.

– Hey there –Said Carmen slowly-

– Hi –Said Shane almost inaudible. A creep silence following-

– Shane could you please look at me? –Carmen was pushing Shane and she knew it, but this was all her fault since she was the one asking her to come in first place. Even she was the one picking her up. – Shane.. –Said Carmen one more time getting Shane to look up-

Shane’s eyes finally came in contact with Carmen’s, spreading electricity in both of them.

– What’s up? – She finally said, trying to act as cool and collected as usual

– Well I was wondering the same thing actually, what is up with you?

– Uhum.. and may I ask why is it that you’ve been avoiding me the whole night?

– I don’t know what you are talking about

– Really Shane? Then it’s weird how come we’ve been in the same room the whole night and we haven’t spoke once
