Shane and Jenny were outside talking about nothing when Mark came and sat down between the two sexy women, giving them each a look. First to Jenny then to Shane and then back to Jenny. The ladies looked at each other and Jenny simply shrugged, wondering what Mark had up his sleeve now.
“You guys are leading a sheltered life, you never go out, and you never bring home sexy hot and sweaty women anymore. What is with the little old lady routines?” Mark asked in a serious voice, and Jenny battered her eyes.
“Mark, you lead such a sheltered life, playing on your computers, playing with your computers, I’m starting to think you live vicariously through Shane and I.” Mark paled a bit looking over at Shane, whose raised eyebrows told him everything he needed to know. Mark stood, slapping his thighs and said.
“I think I’ll go for a walk.” Shane nodded, and Jenny said in a sweet yet sarcastic voice.
“I think that would be a wonderful idea.” Mark glanced back at them; walking down the small walkway between the house and Bette’s fence, he walked backwards and waved. They waved back, both of them straight faced and when Mark finally disappeared around the corner.
“He’s an odd man.” Jenny said sipping on her beer, Shane nodded and voiced.
“Very.”

Alice stopped short at the door of the Planet, she was still running on a high today, she’d been on a morning show and she had just blazed, she was hot! Feeling good, feeling great, her date with Dana had been another slam dunk, and she was on cloud nine. Hell, if there was a cloud ten, she’d be on it. Then she saw Marina standing in the back of the counter at the Planet, and she did a double take.
“MARINA!” Alice bellowed and Marina looked up, features bright and tanned as she moved seductively around the counter, her long arms wide open and Alice walking right into them. Marina scooped her up and Alice was now sure that life was finally starting to get better. It was all falling right the fuck back into place, Tonya the cat killer who? A wicked grin spread over Alice’s features.
“When did you get back? Where are you living? Did Kit hire you? Did you got to the new club Twilight ? Have you heard about Bette? Tina? The world is on its fucking ear…”
“Slow down Alice, come on and sit down. Have a huge cup of coffee with an old friend.” Alice nodded enthusiastically and Marina pulled her gently through the crowd and they found the last table empty.
“All right, let me just say that yes, things are going well. Kit has taken me on as a silent working partner. I am living in my house, the one that Francesca and I owned together, I have bought her out, just last week. I have heard all about Bette, Tina, You, Dana and everyone else for that matter from Kit. It took her hours to catch me up an all the goings ons, I was aghast at it all actually. I tried to go see Bette today, but was turned around, very sweetly by one of her doctors. It seems that none of us are on the elusive list that has the privilege of seeing her. I have yet to visit Twilight but I am sure I will because Tina works there. Anything else you need to know?” Marina smiled and Alice grinned right back.
“Have you seen Jenny yet?” She asked ultra serious, Marina’s eyebrow raised and a very impish grin spread over her face, she leaned in close to Alice almost nose to nose and said.
“Yes, I have.”

Dana was doing laps in the pool of the Country Club when she heard someone whistling and she turned and looked up to see Lara at the edge of the pool. Dana stopped and just looked at her, sexy in her baggy shorts and tight baby doll shirt that read, So Gay! Dana had to giggle at the shirt she swam to the edge and gracefully and popped up right besides Lara.
“What brings you here on this sunny day?” Dana asked flirtatiously and Lara smiled, and shrugged her petite shoulders.
“I came to clean out my locker. I got a new job, something really part time. I want to spend as much time with the healing woman as I can.” Lara said a grin coming to her lips easily when she thought about Sam having a new heart and a new shot at life.
A life together, Sam was one of the sweetest women she’d yet to meet. She had told Sam that she was falling in love with her on the island well the fall was totally and utterly complete. Something about the sexy tomboy touched her heart, the same way that something inside of the closeted Dana had touched her not to long ago. She’d been sure she’d never love again, but millions of people say that, and they do fall in love again, eventually.
“It’s great how something so tragic yielded something good in the end.” Dana said softly, and Lara turned to her. Then they began to walk Lara not saying anything yet, she was not really sure where she stood with Dana as a friend. It was an awkward situation and Lara was letting Dana feel this one out.
“So you and Alice huh?” Dana blushed and they walked towards the locker rooms, and Dana stammered as she began to speak. She wasn’t used to people perceiving them as a couple, but that was just what they were, a couple. Kissing, loving, talking, hugging and being together all the time. Dana was starting to miss her best friend Alice whom she could talk to about her relationship, because now, she was the relationship.
“Yeah well, sort of snuck up on us.” It was now Lara’s turn to blush she’d wanted to tell Dana earlier about her having been at the wedding, to break it up. In great soap opera style, but she’d never really gotten the chance too.
“I know, I heard. I – I – I was there, the day of your wedding actually? I was about to bust into your dressing room and tell you to not marry Tonya. Dumb huh?” Lara said, she kept walking and she turned to look at Dana but she wasn’t there. She glanced around and then turned she saw Dana stopped dead in her tracks, staring at Lara. At look of total shock masked Dana’s face, open mouthed surprise at the revelation.
“You were what?” Dana demanded and Lara walked back to her, looking down at the ground, slightly embarrassed. She’d thought it had been the best idea that she’d ever had in her life, stand up and interrupt a wedding, but now she thought of it a bit differently.
“I was outside your dressing room when Alice declared her love and then I heard you ran out on your wedding, and off in a limo? You do know the Porsche you slammed into was Sam’s that day?” Dana couldn’t move there was nothing that could make her move right now, Lara had come to stop the wedding? Why? Was she still in love with her? Could they have a shot in the dark? Oh god, Lara, what did I do? Why didn’t you tell me? Where did you go when I fell for Tonya?
“Dana?” Lara asked and she walked up to Dana and touched her shoulders gently, and Dana looked up at her with wide eyes and met her gaze, something electric passed between them. Dana reached up, grabbing Lara and kissing her as hard as she’d ever kissed someone before in her life.

Her eyes fluttered open, and she moved her right hand feeling the inside of her palm with her fingertips, the stitches were gone now, how long had it been? A week, a month, it didn’t matter really. The shattered glass the pain in her hand the blood. The CAC, Crystal all fresh wounds in her fragile mind’s eye.
Shoulder, she reached up with her right hand the IV being pulled as she did causing more of that sweet pain, eyes closed again as she touched her shoulder. Healed, not completely, but well along the way. Stitches too were gone but she could feel the scab that was there, itching to be picked at. Gonna leave a nice scar, she thought to herself as her fingers drifted along the raised ridges of the scar wound.
A song played in her head, 12 Stones ‘Open Your Eyes’ and she licked her lips, she turned her head to see that there was no water pitcher. What sort of hospital was this? She looked to her left, and saw the pole over her head, IV bag, to her right she saw another bag, filled with some chocolate looking fluid. She groaned, she knew what it was one of her partners had been on it once, long ago in New York.
“Oh shit.” She grunted harshly looking down at her belly and seeing the g-tube inserted in her belly button, she leaned back into the pillow and drifted off to sleep again. Sleeping was good there was no water and another few days of sleep would be ok. Forget about the tubes, the annoying oxygen blowing into her nose that made her want to sneeze. Forget about Vanessa crying every time she walked into the room and stared at the empty shell of her sister; forget it all.
Life could wait a while longer.

Cute how Sam got Alex to wake up. Just curious as to why in your stories Dana is always so indecisive about the person she’s in love with?
