    Some more hanging out at the beach. Angelica’s cuteness always prevails…lol. Peggy calls and is…Peggy…lol

     

    “Pwomise!” Angelica stuck out her pinky finger and they pinky swore on it.

     

    “Her water’s ready.  Come on, stinky, let’s take a bath.”  Angelica jumped off of Helena’s lap and walked over to her mother, “Would you like to help, Helena?”

     

    “Sure.”

    Bette carried Angelica to her bed and Helena followed close behind.  She tucked her in and gave her a kiss on the head.

     

    “Goodnight, my Boo.” Bette whispered.

     

    Helena ran her hand over Angelica’s hair, “Goodnight, beautiful.”

     

    “’Night, Mama.  ‘Night, ‘Lena.”

     

    Bette cut off Angelica’s light as she left the room.

     

    “You two are so very beautiful together.”

     

    “Thank you.”  Bette held Helena’s hand as they walked towards the living room.  Helena loved the way Bette held her hand.  It was warm and inviting.  Bette seemed to like it too, “It’s getting late.  Do you want to stay here?  You can have my guest room.”

     

    “No, that’s okay.” Helena knew that if she stayed, she wouldn’t be able to contain herself.  She wanted to take this slow.  She knew Bette had been in love and lost it in the most painful of ways—some of that love due to her own doing—and she wanted to earn Bette’s heart, keep it, and protect it.

     

    “Then, let me call a cab for you.” Helena nodded.

    As she stood by the door, Bette leaned in and kissed Helena’s cheek.

     

    “I had a wonderful time, Bette.”

     

    “So did I.  Will you be at the Planet tomorrow morning for breakfast?”

     

    “I’ll be there.”

     

    “Then I’m looking forward to seeing you there.”

     

    Helena, unready to let her go, hugged her tight.  Bette nuzzled Helena’s curly hair, the scent of her shampoo and her perfume mixed and got trapped in her nose.  Her scent was intoxicating, for lack of a better word.  Her arms sunk lower on her waist.  Helena felt her breath get caught in her throat.  She never needed to be this close to Bette—unless she was going to make love to her.  Otherwise, it would be very difficult for her to let go.

     

    Bette released first, “Goodnight, Helena.”

     

    “Goodnight.”

    She left her scent in the house.  Everywhere Bette walked, she could smell Helena’s beautiful aroma.  She couldn’t feel this way about her though—it wasn’t right.  Besides, she just knew that Helena didn’t feel the same way.

    4. susannah you make me feel so terrible. I hate that you need balm for the “drama and pain” of my fic. Now back to this story, why would Bette not feel Helena would like her. they are holdign hands, practically cuddling. They already seem like a nice family unit. Angelica will be the match maker here. Kids are so honest.

    6. squirl, I hope I didn’t offend you with the comment about the “drama and pain” but girl you know it’s true!! One mark of a good author is to evoke emotion and I think it’s safe to say there is alot of emotion over there!! So you are doing a good job. I also think that Angelica is going to be the matchmaker, and how cute is that. I wanted her to run and whisper in her mama’s ear that Lena wanted to be her girlfriend! If she can keep a secret, she is the first 4 year old I have ever heard of that can!
