    Bette arched an eyebrow. “I don’t see you wiggling out of my hold or unwrapping your arms from my waist. Baby, don’t accuse me of something you’re guilty of yourself.”

     

    “Smart ass! Just keep quiet and enjoy the moment.” Tina shot right back as she snuggled against Bette. “You have nine minutes and forty four seconds to go.”

     

    “You’re counting?”

     

    “Yes, I need a shower.”

     

    Bette sighed. “Can I join you?”

     

    “No.”

     

    “Why not?” A childish whine.

     

    “We need to be in Redwind in an hour. Do you remember what happened the last time we showered together?”

     

    “You swallowed water and slipped after you orgasmed?”

     

    Tina blushed. “Not that!”

     

    “Oh?”

     

    “We were two hours late for class!”

     

    “Oh that.” Bette shrugged. “Who cares? The teacher can give us a remedial exam if we’re late for it.”

     

    “And prolong the torture? I don’t want to! We didn’t study hard last night just to take a special test at the end of the week. We’d have to review things all over again.”

     

    “And so? I didn’t hear you complaining when we were reviewing long and hard last night..” Brown eyes twinkled in mischief. “If memory serves me right, you were having so much fun that you didn’t want to stop.”

     

    Tina rolled her eyes, trying to fight the heat that was crawling up her cheeks. “I uh.. didn’t want to stop cause I felt like we needed to study more.” She coughed out unconvincingly.

     

    “Yeah.. right. Keep telling yourself that, Kennard.”

     

    “Oh shut up Porter! If my mind goes blank during the exam, I’m blaming you and your dubious review techniques!”

     

    “Hey hey, don’t question the effectiveness of my study methods.” Bette gave Tina a hard look, silencing the blonde. Without warning, she launched straight into a History question. “What’s the first institution of higher learning in the western world and who founded it?”

     

    “The Academy in Athens. Founded on 385 BC by Plato.” The blonde answered without beat. She paused as the implications of what she had just said dawned on her.

     

    “See?” Bette’s lips curved upward, gloating at her tiny victory. “Tell me baby, how’d you remember it?”

    9. Congrats on passing, Alchemy! Hope everything works out just as you wish. I am beyond doing a happy dance seeing your post and loved the chapter. I cannot quit laughing thinking about Shane’s stink finger. I had tears rolling down my cheeks while letting out a nice belly laugh. So freakin’ funny. Good to see Ken and Melvin working together… seems Bette will be a yalie after all.
