The duo exchanged loving glances, and shared a deep and passionate roadside kiss. The back drop was gorgeous, the sun warm, and the trade winds blowing, giving the roadside scene, an almost surreal look, capturing the essence of love in a few distinct moments. The few seconds that it took for their heart stopping kiss to transpire, felt like an eternity of love crashing over them in never ending waves. They stood next to the road, in each others arms for a few more minutes before heading back on the road and toward their next destination.

They arrived at Kilauea lighthouse a short while later. They pulled into the parking lot, and both of their eyes filled with amazement when they saw the view from the lookout. They could see the historic lighthouse off in the distance, and more birds than they had ever seen dancing in the skies. Hand in hand they walked toward the lighthouse on the sea cliffs of Kauai. With each step they enjoyed a bit more of the breath taking view as the scenery around them grew in size, as they moved toward the vastness that was the Pacific Ocean.

The sun illuminated the skies and the sea, showing off the clean, clear blue waters off of Kauais coast. Bette and Tina walked hand in hand around the grounds of the lighthouse, enjoying all of the sights and sounds. They walked into a little museum, learning that the lighthouse was built in 1913, and at the time had the largest lens of its kind. Now a museum, and historic landmark the area has been turned in to a refuge and sanctuary for native plants, wildlife and many types of different sea birds, native and foreign alike. With sweeping sea cliffs and ocean vistas, the pair of women took in the sea breezes and sights for all it was worth, holding each other and enjoying every second they had together on the magical island.

Tina pointed toward the bottom of the sea cliff, to a secluded little white sand beach. There basking in the sun was a Hawaiian Monk Seal and her pup, looking very content and happy to call the waters off Hawaii home.
