Jess — Plan B; pt. 98
Ok, so I’ve come to accept the fact that mom has this huge freak-out factor. Some things just send her way over the edge, you know. Generally it’s ok, and other than being a little embarrassing when it happens at a game, it’s no big deal.
Except. When. I’m. In. Pain.
I would say I was writhing in pain, because I just think that sounds coolwrithing. But I wasn’t moving, which was probably why she screamed so loud.
It’s not like I didn’t want to move, but that whole throbbing pain in the wrist thing was making me wish the floor would open up and swallow me.
That sort of thing seems to happen in horror movies, but not in my life.
No, in my life, I decide to avail myself of cookies. Which, I might add, my mother decided should be stashed on the top shelf. Now if, during this availing, is it my fault if a chair breaks? I sit on the chair, I should be able to stand on it, right? And it always did fine at the dinner table when I’d lean back on two legs.
Tonight was not my night.
Even though I was against moving, Porter came over. She confirmed to mom that I was breathing and all that. No blood.
Blood would have been cool.
Blood in a horror movie kind of way, of course. Not my blood.
Mom was pulling it together a little, but still was on the hovering and shakey side of things.
Bette was able to pull some first-aid fu together – who knew she knew that stuff. So there I am with my arm in some funky splint made from a floral sarong that I think Aunt Alice left over here for when she hangs out at the pool, you know, she’s getting a little self-conscious about her thighs, or something.
We all bundle into the car. I got to sit in the front seat, and Bette drove. Mom spazzed out in the back.
Before we even left the house there was this whole ‘let’s call an ambulance’ discussion. Bette talked mom out of that. Then there was the whole ‘who was going to drive’ thing.

Funny chapter, Jess is a cut-up. Before you end this please give us some loving stuff between Bette and Tina and get them permanently back together, PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE. Make Jesse like Bette more and accept her as her other mother. Thanks for the post.
wow jess is actually calling bette, bette. less porter now :D excellent chapter. and echoing everyone, please don’t stop at 100.
Aww poor Jess, she just wanted some cookies, but at least everything’s okay. I know I’m not one to talk since my own writing has kinda stalled but PLEASE don’t end this, I don’t think there can be a resolution to this story in 2chtps unless they’re really long chapters. Who am I kidding? I just don’t want this to end. With the way the S3 spoilers are coming I need to at least have an idea that in the end everything between Bette and Tina works out! Plus, I love Jess!
As usual, a brilliant chapter. Jess is so funny..as always, thanks for your time and continued effort with this story!
Aw, poor Jess. But that was so cute. Very amusing. :)
I didn’t like the sound of just stopping at 100. 200 chapters would be great just to see Jess get to Porter and her Mom. This was funny and cute,Porter excuse me Dr porter took over. thanks
First thing first…you said that you would continue to write even if you finished this story, right? Good. I won’t whine then. Now, Jess’ inner dialogue is just brilliant! There has been evidence of Jess slowly emerging maturation over the course of the story, but you have never waived from the core that makes Jess who she is. That slightly acerbic, sarcastic and self-deprecating bent that makes her observations so acute. You balance the soft and edgy sides of Jess with such finesse. Without benefit of a complete dossier on either Tina, Bette or Jess we are still able to understand the essence of who they are. The humor that you imbues this chapter is delightful and just what the situation called for. Again, brilliant.
I’m going to hate to see this story end – but it is of course the creator’s perogative. If we beg would you go to 105????
thanks p- it was great. funny, as always love jess’ thoughts. thanks.
I understand about this story concluding, am relieved to read that you will continue this story line. For me, i’d love to see the Jess/sex-ed theme continue. lots of laughs there.
forgot to say, i loved the chapter, especially the siren comment… think it was the shock of reading that this much loved story about to end………..
“She didn’t aapreciate my effort” – lmao!
Personally I’ve always thought 150 is a good number …
I made ambulance noises…lmao…Jess is something else..
kind of funny
Excellent.
This story seems to be coming to a natural conclusion. I’d rather end it when it feels right than force it to continue. Doesn’t mean I won’t do more with this idea, by any means.
Great chapter. I enjoy your story. I would hate to see the story end, but you have to do what you feel. But know this…as long as you write, I will be reading. Looking forward to more.
Jess is definitely a trip. She’s making ambulance noises while Tina’s freaking out…hilarious. Please continue.
Really would hate to see this end. If you have to end, maybe a sequel – please?
When I looked at the title, I suddenly got a bad omen, coz the number is too close to 100. But now I feel like maybe to do some adjustment to the hundredth digit or to add some trivial zeros to the end is a better choice to end the story. What do you think? =)
i have a rule about disliking everyone under the age of 19 but in Jess’s case i may be wrong
You can not stop this at 100, one theirs too much to still wrap up,like really getting B&T together, and then we still need some lovin stories about them. Too funny about Jess, just knew it had to be something she did.
i love jess, i laughed the whole way through the story, geez, can you be any funnier? if you’ll stop at ch. 100 consider a sequel or another story, please
great chappy:) I’m glad all is well, for the most part. Hmmm chapter 100. I don’t think you should end there, but that’s only because I’m infatuated with your writing. If you end there, you have to PROMISE to write another story, otherwise I’ll shrivel up and die. keep writing. I’ll be reading.
Good chapter. Jess is a little funny and something else but love her. Ok post soon please, thanks!
Thanks for this. It was fun and funny and quite a gift. I know how busy you are.
please don’t end at 100! I love this story and I hope you choose to continue it. Thanks for posting.
Only two more chapters to go?… Gee, I hope they’re each 200 pages long! ;-)
If and I mean IF you end at 100 chapters…………..PLEASE give us more Jess and parental interaction. I just love your writing and how you’ve developed these characters with your own unique style. I could beg and plead if need be!!!!!!!
I would really hate to see this story end but if it does you’ve got to keep writing. Jess always makes me laugh.
Will really hate to see this end because I look for it every day. But I understand. Sometimes you just reach a natural stopping place.
Jess’ POV is always uplifting, even considering the situation she’s in! With 3 POVs, does ending at 100 work out? I hope not. Thanks for the update, p.
