Tina surprises Bette with a matching Japanese Kimono, but no Obi (formal belt.) just a regular belt.  It feels cool against the skin, and Tina was thinking it would make it easier to undress Bette. Tina is always thinking!  Tina then puts her new diamond tennis bracelet on.  After they kiss again, they head for the kitchen.  Tina’s next surprise is dinner.  Their dinner is Italian.  Obviously, there is no-tie in between the Kimono and dinner.  Two days earlier, with help from Dana, Tina made fresh homemade pasta using a pasta machine.  For dinner they are having “Trenette con Pesto Genovese” which translates to ‘Thin Noodles With Pesto.’  Tina explains to Bette, “This recipe is from Sophia Loren’s Cook Book, but I added a Tina Kennard twist to the recipe.  Instead of all basil leaves, I use one half basil and one half fresh spinach.  It’s a milder taste, not quite as strong.  I hope that’s all right with you Babe?”   Bette answers, “Tee I love anything you cook for me, but you didn’t have to go to all this trouble.”  Tina looks lovingly at Bette and says,  “It’s no trouble and I enjoy cooking, lucky for you.  So quit worrying.  Now let me finish with the menu:  A very nice Chianti wine, an Antipasto Salad with homemade Garlic bread, and store bought (sorry Bette) Gelato for dessert.  I tried to keep it on the light side. Hint, Hint!”

Dinner is wonderful and the conversation is lively and funny.  Bette is thinking to herself,  ‘Tina knows the most inconsequential tidbits of information.  She is so funny.  She found out in the Sophia Loren Cookbook that Linguine means ‘Little Tongues’!!! Now every time she sees a box of linguine she says she thinks of me!!  She is such a devil!!  But Tina is also unbelievable.  She is so talented.  I have to get my act together for her.  She believes in me and I hope some day she will trust me.  I can’t let her down not after what she’s done for me.  I can’t wait for tonight.  I going to show her how much I love her.’

Bette and Tina do the dishes together. Tina takes off her new diamond tennis bracelet; she doesn’t want to get it wet. They decide to walk on the beach to help digest their dinner.
