‘Why?’

Candace lowered her hand. She then walked over towards the bath. Lowering herself she sat on the edge of it.

‘Why you ask. Why why why….’

Tina watched her every move. She was absolutely furious, but at the same time a little frightened. She didn’t know what this woman was capable of. How did Candace get in? Where did this secret door behind the mirror lead too? Had she been watching them? Had she watched her and Bette make love last night?

She didn’t want to think about it….

Candace carried on talking…

‘You see Tina. Bette and I had something special.’

‘You what? You’ve got to be kidding me??? You fucked a couple of times and that means its ‘something special’’ Tina mocked, bringing her hands up to highlight the ‘something special’.

‘You’re right we did fuck. Sometimes we fucked all night long. And it was good, so very fucking good.’

Tina looked away from her at this point. She looked towards the floor and shook her head. Satisfied with Tina’s reaction, Candace continued…

‘But that’s not what I’m talking about. I think we could have had something special. The only thing that stopped that was you.’

Tina looked back up at her and laughed..

‘I didn’t stop that Candace. You were a passing phase. You were like a rebound. Bette and I had gone through an emotional time and you were her way of venting things out. She took out all of her frustration on you.’

‘You’re wrong. If you had just let her go she would have found her way back to me.’

‘Oh my god. What the fuck is wrong with you? Have you gone stalker or something? Why the fuck did you invite us all up here?’

‘Well, you see Tina. I’ve had a lot of time to think over the years. I’ve watched you. I’ve watched you all. Your ’picture perfect’ family…

You have no idea how lucky you are. You have all I ever wanted. A child and a gorgeous hard working partner. You destroyed it for me.

So anyway, its taken a while for me to figure out what to do. How I could possibly be with Bette again. Then it hit me. The Crampton Hotel. A group of friends once told me that this place was haunted. I didn’t believe it. Not at first. But then I did my research. I even came up here one night and had a look around. The place has been deserted for I don’t know how long and what with the rumours of ghosts and possession I don’t think people are fond of coming up here.
