    Alice is leaving, What will Dana do?
    short story

    Dana looked down, ” I’m serious Alice, I can’t live without you, and I’m not letting you go”.

    Alice took the ring and looked at it then looked back up to Dana, ” THIS! This doesn’t take away any pain and it isn’t gonna change my mind”.

    Dana looked at Alice, ” if its not gonna change your mind, I know it at least got you thinking about us, I’m not giving up Alice, I did that already, I see that look in your eyes, its still there”.

    Alice gave the ring back to Dana, held a bag in each hand and stood straight, ” it will always be there Dana, but it’s never going to come back out, I wanted this goodbye to be simple, but I guess it wont be. Thanks for all the years Dane, I’ll miss you, and I love you, but I gotta go, goodbye Dana”.

    Dana did not know what to do, she was losing Alice, ” do I at least get a goodbye kiss?”

    Alice smiled and leant in to give Dana a kiss on the cheek, to which Dana tilted her head so that their lips met, but it was only for a brief moment because Alice pulled away, ” goodbye”.

    As soon as she had her back turned to Dana Alice let the tears flow as she walked out the door. She walked down the stairs, and saw Shane waiting in the car for her, ” I don’t like that youre leaving Al, but I still love you”.

    Alice and Shane made it to the airport within 45 minutes, and grabbed all of Alice’s stuff. They started to walk to the line and noticed that the line was too long to wait in now, and also that they were way too early so they walked over to the nearest coffee place and sat down for a little while.

    Shane was sipping at her coffee, ” so Dana come see you? I saw her car sitting outside”.

    Alice nodded, ” yeah, she said a lot that’s all I have to say”.

    Shane nodded knowing something had happened, ” so what she say?”

    Alice shook her head in amazement thinking back to what was said, ” oh you know, the usual, don’t leave, I’ll miss you, will you marry bullshit”.
