    I Wish…CH2

Bette had just arrived back to her house in L.A. Her first thought upon opening the door was how unhappy she was to be here. How alone she felt. She placed the bag on the floor next to the sofa and slowly glanced around the room she stood in.

She saw the furniture her and Tina had picked out together when they bought this house. She saw the pictures of them all. The ones of just the two of them, her and Tina, looking so in love. The ones of the three of them, right after Angelica was born, when the promise of a family was finally becoming a reality, or so she thought at the time.

Having held herself together for the past 5 hours on the plane,  and while driving to and from the airports, her resolve now started to shatter. A few stray tears started a trek down her soft mocha colored cheeks. As she clutched to her chest a picture of herself and Angelica shortly before her world once again came crashing down around her.

"I’m going to miss you so much my baby." She strangled out.

She sat despondently on the sofa and was finally granting herself permission to grieve for her loss when her cell phone rang loudly at her side.

Looking at the caller ID she saw it was Kit, and with a final deep sigh she answered the call in the cheeriest voice she could muster.

    "Hey Kit"

"Hey baby girl. You home now?"

"Yeah, for about 15 minutes now."

    "Your flight was okay?"

"Yes it was fine. Very uneventful."

    "So what you doin’ now?"

"Not much, just sitting here, thinking planning, you know."

"Well you need to rest right now, so why don’t you just leave all that thinking and planning until later huh?"

"Yeah, your right. So you’ll be home tomorrow?"

"Yep, and I’m coming to see you as soon as I get there okay?"

"Okay, thanks for calling Kit, I’ll see you tomorrow then."

"Um, Bette, so you want to know how it went?"

"No. No I don’t think so Kit. It has to be this way, it’s best for everyone."

    "But Bette.."

"Kit, really it is for the best. Okay? Love you Bye."

After Bette closed her cell phone, she looked around once more and decided what she would do. She started by methodically taking down every picture of Tina, Tina and Bette, Bette and Angelica, and all the ones of the three of them together. Going to the storage room off the kitchen she got an empty box, and started packing way her memories, mementos and reminders.

As promised Kit arrived at Bette’s door the next day. She came baring bags of food as she knew how little cooking Bette did. And she knew if Bette was upset, she wouldn’t eat.

"Baby girl!" Kit put the bags down and drew her sister into her arms, giving her a much needed hug.

"Kit, I am so glad you are here. Especially since you brought food ." Bette smiled at her sister.

"Wow, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I got here, but you seem to be…okay. Are you?"

"You know, I actually slept better than I have in a few weeks. It was amazing. I came home yesterday and took down some things that I just didn’t need to see every moment, and then I felt this great pressure come off my shoulders , I know that I am going to miss Angelica like crazy, probably for a long, long time, but I think I can live Kit. This time I think I am going to live…without Tina.

    1. Well, it may not be quite that simple, but it’s a far better attitude than rubbing your own face in a big pile of poo. Kudos to Tina for having a revelation. The question is: where will this revelation do to the both of them?

    2. Resolve can be strong in the first few hours of making a life changing decision…but then it weakens slowly especially when you can’t fight fate. If Tina has made up her mind that she will not let Bette do this then Bette has a fight on her hands and taking pictures down isn’t gonna change a thing. They do need to talk …REALLY talk knowing they love each other is the easy part communiating is the hard part. Keep posting.

    3. Looks like Tina decided to pay her mental electric bill as the lights finally came on. I have a feeling once this high Bette is on wears off she will crash and it’s going to hurt badly.

    4. But the question is does she really want to live without Tina and does Tina want to live without her Bette? I do hope that in this story they can work through their problems and begin to put those abused pieces of their heart and puzzle back in correct places.

    5. Tina made the mess larger each time she seen Bette, so its her mess to clean up. She has a lot to do will Bette forgive her /or do it just to be near Angie. thanks
