    Which was your favourite lap of the marathon?

    “Absolutely, can I watch it too?”

    Once again Alice was met with ‘the look’ and the beautifully defined eyebrows.

    Alice smiled, knowing the answer before she had even opened her mouth, “it was worth a try! Can I ask you something Bette?”

    “Sure”

    “How ‘in love’ would you say you are?” Alice asked, intrigued, knowing that she had never experienced in her life the love that Bette and Tina shared, or seemingly shared, unless it was a fa&#231ade and all they did at home was fight and look happy when they stepped outside their own front door.

    “What makes you ask that?” Bette said curiously, wondering whether there was a catch.

    “Because, I wanna know how ‘in love’ someone can be, you know I think I’ve been ‘in love’, but you guys make it look different than something I’ve ever experienced.”

    Bette smiled, knowing there was no catch, “you know its so hard to put into words how much I love Tina, it really is, I can’t even tell her how much, because words don’t seem sufficient, they seem too little for how big these feelings are that I have when I look at her. I suppose the only way I can describe it is that its all consuming, you love them and want them so much it can be physically painful, you would do anything to spare them pain, you would rather inflict pain on yourself to protect them, you hold them in your arms and you just cant get close enough, kiss them and its not deep enough, and one look from them and you feel on top of the world and you could conquer the universe, and then in another look and you feel like crawling under a stone and dying, that one person that you are so in love with can take you to such mortal extremes in your life. You’ll find your soul mate Alice, you never know she may even be sitting beside you tonight.”

    Alice looked around, “don’t be silly, I’m sat next to you and Dana!”

    Bette looked straight into Alice’s eyes, “its not so silly Al, even your best friend could turn out to be your soul mate!”

    “Bette! You know I love you right, but come on, you’ve just told me how much you love Tina!!!” Alice tried to make light of Bette’s statement, her eyes belied the lightness of her comment, she knew exactly what intent was held within Bette’s comment, but the thought processes of her head and her heart hadn’t quite met in the middle yet.

    11. So many different laps to choose from. I would have to choose the gallery and then my next choice would be Tina sitting on Bette’s lap and slipping her fingers into her in front of their friends. I sure wish you were the creator (along with ally) of the show instead of what’s her name. There is so much darkness in this world along with the darkness that has now become the L word. Thanks to you guys there is some light in the darkness. By Keeping these two together brings joy to my heart. Thanks for taking the time to write these wonderful stories.

    13. Jo, this chapter is just so amazing. I am in awe of your writing ability. You have Bette and Tina display their love for each other in a very sensual way. I also liked the talk that Bette and Alice had about finding your soul mate.

    30. Now I have to remember to breathe. I am listening to Bird York singing “In The Deep” from “Crash” and I feel that I am out there with Bette and Tina , just spinning. I would love for your story to be one entire episode in TLW with the same dialogue and narration. Another epi could be your collaborative story w/Ally. Then I don’t care what would happen.
