I Need My Best Friend – Part 10

    ‘I needed you.’

‘I tried to be there for you.’

‘I needed you to cry with me, be hurt, disappointed and angry with me, but you weren’t any of that you were just  Bette.  You just went on as if nothing had happened.’

‘I thought you needed me to be strong for you.’

‘What do you need Bette?  You said you needed me to help you grieve, so what can I do?’

‘I don’t think we should do this now.  Maybe after’

‘After what, after I stop hiding from what I’m really feeling, isn’t that what you said?’

‘I don’t want to fight with you Tina.’

‘I don’t want that either.  I lost it after you left, Foxworthy had to cancel his next appointment; he couldn’t get me out of his office.  I thought you had finally left me.’

‘Tina how did you get that out of what I said, what do you mean finally?’

‘I never understood why you’ve been so insistent about me coming back when my leaving opened the door for you, you didn’t have to stay anymore.’

    ‘What are you talking about?’

‘You never really wanted the baby.  Once I lost him you were free to be with someone else, so why try to get me back when you were finally free?’

‘How dare you say I never wanted our child.  You have no idea’

‘No Bette, I have no idea, because you never talked to me, you just went out and slept with your carpenter.’

‘One thing has nothing to do with the other.  I know you have a lot to be angry with me about, but you’ve let all that anger fuse together into one issue.  I don’t know how to deal with that.  Can’t we just take one issue at a time?  Just tell me all the things you’re angry about and let’s try to go from there.’

‘You’re just like Foxworthy, you make it sound so easy.’

‘It’s not easy, none of this is easy, but trying to address everything at once is impossible.  Please, you’ve got to give us a break here.’

    ‘This isn’t what I wanted.’

    1. I am so glad to see this story back up. It was an excellent chapter, and I do hope that these two will come to the realization of their love for each other. Also that it does take an awfully lot of work from both just not one. That involves open communication, talking, even if it to go out for a date and spend the time alone. Then the rest will fall into place. I can’t wait for the next chapter. Thanks so much.

    2. FINALLY!!!I was so happy to see another chapter from you (LOVE IT BTW)Can’t wait for the next chapeter. I agree with all, you must learn how to crawl before you can walk before you can run
