I Fell In Love With A Straight Girl Chp 9

Guilt washed over me. I had already scared her enough with my past with Cherrie, I could only imagine what the rest of it would do to her.
“Carmen..” I paused, “I-I just don’t do these types of things.”
“I understand you don’t have to explain yourself, it’s your choice.” She said softly. “I’ll just see you at school tomorrow.”
She walked out of my room, then out of the house. I sat on my bed, trying to convince myself that it was better to protect herself from someone like me. Even if I couldn’t protect myself from someone like me.

I sat with Alice and her laptop at the Planet, as I enjoyed a Sunday lunch with her.
“So Tina told me you had a girl over.” She tease me.
I rolled my eyes, “C’mon Al, you know I don’t kiss and tell.”
“piff I would, Carmen is hot!”
“It’s different Alice.” I said, while focusing on my drink
“How, did you give her a key to the house?”
“I let her spend the night.”
Alice paused, then raised an eyebrow at me. “You really like her, don’t you?”
I shrugged “It is what it is.”
“What is that suppose to mean Shane, you broke a rule and let someone spend the night, that has to mean something!”
I looked down the straw of my coffee and tried to count the bubbles inside of it. “She keeps asking to many questions.” I said still looking down the straw.
Alice dropped her fork. “Really Shane, that’s it? You have this beautiful woman and all she wants to do is get to know you, how hard can it be to answer a few questions!”
    “Al you know-”
“Shane, I do know, I was there. But c’mon, she was supportive when you told her about your jailbait days, why wouldn’t she be supportive of you now? She’s the one who asked, she wants to know who you are.”
“I just don’t want to deal with it, with all the explaining, and the pitty that people give me. I don’t want any of that, i don’t want her to feel sorry for me.”
“Oh Jesus Christ Shane, it’s not going to kill you to let one person know about your past.” Alice shook her head at me then went back to her laptop.
I reached into my pocket and grabbed my cell phone. I flipped it open and thought about texting Carmen.
“Just give her a day Shane.”  I thought to myself “Let her calm down, then you can explain yourself to her.”
I sighed and place the phone on the table. It would be better to talk to her in person, then over a stupid text message.
