"Oh hey T, I was about to come get you." Bette said excitedly, quickly walking towards the stereo and turning the music down slightly as the song started again.
"Bette…what are you doing?" Tina asked slowly, raising an eyebrow.
"We.." Bette started, walking over to the blonde and grabbing her hands, "are going to perform a dance for Alice’s dance marathon charity thing." The brunette grinned, pulling Tina to the middle of the room.
"Umm, what?" Tina asked, raising her eyebrows at her partner, assuming she’d gone temporarily insane.
"Well, Alice wanted everyone to get involved and at first I was kind of apprehensive but then I figured…it might be quite fun if we did it together." Bette flashed a smile at the blonde and squeezed her hands.
"You’re serious." Tina said flatly, as Bette began to move the blonde’s hands slowly in time with the music.
"Yep, why not?" Bette replied, still staring at the blonde.
"Why not." Tina repeated, a slight grin forming on her lips.
Bette gently kissed Tina’s hands and moved around behind the blonde to remove her cardigan, revealing a black tank-top underneath.
"Right." Bette said as she stood back in front of Tina. "We’d better get started now, we need to practice as much as we can before you go to New York if we wanna win this thing."
Tina chuckled and shook her head at Bette. "I thought this was just for charity, like, for fun…"
Bette sighed at her partner, "Yes T it is for charity, but what’s the point of competing in a competition if you’re not in it to win it?" The brunette replied, her face now completely serious.
Tina sometimes forgot how competitive Bette could be, and she knew Alice had probably stirred things up in order to get her to compete in the first place. Tina actually found Bette adorable and kinda sexy when she got like this, especially over such a trivial thing as a dance competition. So she thought she’d humor her partner.
"Okay, let’s do it." Tina said excitedly, squeezing the brunette’s hands.
Bette grinned and leaned in to capture Tina’s lips in a quick kiss. She then turned around and skipped the song back to the beginning so they could begin.

Love this new story so sorry it’s only going to be a two-parter. Surely you can take it thru Tina’s trip to NYC and the dance contest and their reaction for after the contest. Just hoping and wishing. Really like their reminiscing about old times, their happiness and their newly found love and attraction. Sweet. PPS
I really love this story. I love reading about bette and tina in the beginning. That is something I wish they had done in the show more- referred to the past more. PPS!
