From Afar
Making her way out of the bedroom, Bette stuck her head out
the patio door, catching Irene’s attention, Bette waved hello and approached
the two of them playing on a blanket.
Anna was walking now when she really wanted to but if she wanted to get
somewhere fast she still crawled. When
Anna saw Bette she immediately plopped on her butt and began crawling towards
Bette for all she was worth.
“Well I see someone is feeling much better this afternoon.”
Bette says as she bends down to pick Anna up.
Anna’s delight at Bette being home was quickly confirmed as she
screeched her happiness.
“Yep we are as good as new.” Irene says following Anna in
her path to Bette. “We just got up from
a little nap so I thought she might enjoy it out here. We’ve been practicing our walking.”
“You know I don’t know if that’s such a good idea.” Bette
joked. “She gets into so much crawling
imagine where we’ll be when she’s walking everywhere.”
“Isn’t that the truth?” Irene laughs along.
“Well here I’ll let you two get back to it. I think I’ll start dinner.” Bette says giving
Anna a big kiss and then handing her back to Irene.
Bette promptly got busy figuring out what she could fix for
dinner. She was grateful for the time to
herself fixing dinner gave her to put the rest of Jack’s conversation into
perspective.
Jack had ignored her choice of choosing the adoption to talk
about first. Instead he launched right
into the editorials. Did Bette have any
idea who wrote them? Here Bette shared
Peabody paying to have them produced and published.
At the mention of Helena Peabody, Jack had a minor melt
down. As Bette listened to Jack rant
about the toxic nature of Helena Peabody, Bette was startled to think of the
effect that woman has on such a wide diversity of people which seemed to
include an even tempered fellow of Jack’s nature. Bette for the moment marveled at someone else
having a meltdown instead of her.
When he seemed to finish his long string of off colored
insults, Jack went up to a white board he kept behind a cupboard door mounted
to the wall. “Let’s try a different
approach” he said. Across the top he
wrote ‘HELENA PEABODY’, and then he turned to Bette “Let’s make a list of
insults.”

Yeah, what did Tina do to deserve such a FSHSL I ask myself, then when I read about them being together I know why – they are just soooo good together!
And that pedestal – she looks sooo mighty fine and those legs…. ah….. but I’ll be standing around the back looking at her ass! Now that is a sight worth beholding, admiring and sitting and gazing at!
Do you know, I’m not sure that reading your story does my blood pressure any good!
You have definitely got to post your next chapter soon, please don’t keep me in suspense, I am wondering how Tina will react to what Bette has to tell her. Please post ASAP.
yes, helena needs a lesson, and B&T need to talk…maybe a day off will be good, so they can rest and talk…bette is so gentle with tina, they are so great together…wonderful update, thank you
JWet,
Good buddy, great to see that you have made the time for that wonderful personal touch that you do so well.
Yep, things are at a status quo with me so managing to reply most of the time to all new chapter and old faves that I can.
Hope is is damn fine with yourself and family.
On to the crux of the comment; the story.
Jack certainly has all the bases covered and is definitely trying to get into the twisted mind of HellCat.
Only a shedevil would even think for a moment that she could destroy Bette and Tina’s relationship and have Anna all to herself.
I guess having that much money does make you think that everything can be bought. Unfortunately reality bites back and shows you the errors of your ways.
Come on Jack let see you floor HellCat and send her packing and licking her wounds.
I loved that way that you captured the resiliance of children who in the morning are literally at death’s door and then by the afternoon have their second wind and are ready for all-comers.
The way that Bette started to tell Tina all the day’s unfolding events but then realizing that they were landing on deaf eyes displays just how must Bette has grown.
This hopeful romantic wants woman like that to take me to bed when I am dog tired and make me feel safe and warm.
Thank you for this gift.
Your Loyal Fan.
You did a great job of showing the contrast in both Bette and Tina’s days, as well as how they each rely on their home as their safe haven. Reality can be put on hold to some degree when they are in each other’s company and in their house.
I like Jack’s pragmatic approach in detailing Helena’s actions. Bette is both organized and visual, this allowed her to see what Helena has been trying to attempt very clearly.
Helena is a viper. She’s insecure and has money. She falls victim to what plagues many that are both powerful and wealthy…she thinks that she can just orchestrate life to meet her own needs with the belief that impunity is her birth right.
Although it was important for Bette to talk to Tina , it was more important that Tina hears what she said. There was nothing she could have done about it that late in the day anyway.
Accountability is going to be a difficult pill for Helena to swallow.
Excellent chapter, as always. The way you are telling this story is so full of depth and growth for all of the characters. Can’t wait for more.
I love what a team Bette and Tina are, really supportive and connected. I’m enjoying that – another good update. Thank you!
“coming up the front steps, the fatigue biting at tinas heels was finally making head way as she placed her hand on the front door knob. walking into the house tina felt comforted by the noises of home. she could hear someone in the kitchen preparing dinner and anna jabbering. tina sagged against the front door as she paused to offer a little prayer that her home was safe. pushing off the door, tina moved further in ‘hello i’m home.'” the mom in me is going ahhhh. there isnt anything you wont do to protect and take care of your family. thanks honey.
ok that bitch Helena is crazy ot what???..B&T it better start to think together to make a plan to get Helena annihilated..Helena dosent know that the most danger person is a mother to protect her child and i hope soon she will fiond out that..another great chapter please J bring some good news :o)
not to suck up too much but jwet what did we do to deserve you – this chapter was a joy to read not because a lot happened but because of the pace and the sweetness of tone – and I hate Helena for even thinking of taking Anna, that character has no shame.
There is a lot of people that Helene will need to walk through,If she is thinking of getting Anna. Dont believe she would live long enough to even get her out the door. She is crazy, Like that Bette could see that Tina was beat.and just needs to sleep. They can talk tomorrow. thanks.
Oh no, Helena is really going after Bette and Tina’s child. Anna is B&T’s, not Helena’s!!! I hope Jack will be able to handle her. After all, what goes around comes around.
You’ve painted Tina coming home after a long tiring day to the comfort of the “noises of home” with such warmth. Makes us all wish we can all come home to that same feeling no matter how the day has been. Sigh! Bette’s sensitivity to Tina’s fatigue overcame her need to talk shows how much she has changed. She is indeed putting her loved ones above all else. They really have reconnected. Loved the last little bit where Bette has her arms around Tina, leading her to bed and Tina saying: “God what did do to deserve you?”
Jwet, thanks for another great chapter. I can’t wait for the next installment.
Damn Helena is so crazy and I think she need someone to kick her ass hard that she realised that she did bad things to Bette and Tina and she need help to stop doing that, maybe her mother will do that for her. Ok poor Bette and Tina, they really need to talk and sometime to rest and have fun with family. Ok post soon please, thanks!
left hanging post now
SO?? what’s going on with Alice and all that good stuff?? Bette and Tina really need to talk. It will help them both for sure.
I swear it gets better and better..thank you much.
Hey Jwet Thanks for posted I’m still reading Jwet LOL! I just got home Whoa! Helena she is B***h I hope somebody kick her A*s LOL! Hey Jwet that was so great update Thanks!!
I’m here sitting in an airport and decided to try out their wifi connection and it’s pretty dang good.
Yup, B really needs to chat with T and if Jack’s right, then Helena’s CRAZY! But when you think of it, I can understand. Helena wants what B and T have…that unique love…that essence. Maybe she believes that having little Anna, who is the embodiment of that love, will allow her to have some of it. But doesn’t she realise that she has to stop looking for her love elsewhere and find it in herself first? That’s the only way it’s gonna come back to her….Hels needs therapy!
