“Secondly someone has to have a lot of pull to get an
    anonymous editorial printed.  It’s just
not done unless the way has been paved with some sort of strings or cash.”

“Third who has an axe to grind against Bette and is willing
to distort the truth to inflict as much pain as possible?” Alice looks to each of their faces as she
goes through her explanation now that she is to the conclusion they all say
    simultaneously

    “Helena Peabody”

    Just as Alice
was coming to her conclusion, Kit returns with two lattes on a service
tray.  Hearing everyone say Helena‘s name made Kit
furious.  “If that haunty ***** is behind
hurting my sister then I think we need to teach her a lesson.  You don’t mess with a Porter that way and get
away with it.  That woman needs to learn
you mess around with us you end up getting dirt on yourself!” Kit says with
authority and to make her point she slams the tray on the table top.  Kit slams the tray down with a little more
force than she intended.  The froth from
both lattes flies up in the air and onto Kit’s face giving her that white foamy
    look.

The sound of the tray hitting the table gets everyone’s
attention all eyes were on Kit.  As
everyone looks at Kit, it’s quiet amongst all the girls.

“Wow Kit you look a little ***** whipped.” Shane finally
    says breaking the silence.

As Kit glares at Shane, Dana comes running into the Planet
“What have I missed . What have I missed?”

Chapter 115 – Going after the Big One

It must have been Dana’s innocent face that broke the mood,
suddenly Kit burst into a deep laughter that was infectious.  The harder she laughed the more everyone
joined in until the whole gang was laughing, that deep belly rocking laugh.

Pausing long enough to catch her breath and wipe the tears
    out of her eyes Alice
looked to Dana. “Oh honey, I’ll fill you in on all of it but right now I need
your help.  I have a lot of loose ends to
tie up if I want to get this article written in time for my deadline.”

    Looking at Alice,
Dana smiles nervously “OK but this looks like you guys are into something
    good.”

    1. hopefully im first. cuz its an honor to read your story. love the love baby. to see them being in tune with the other *sigh*. what great friends. cant wait to see where and how you lead us. thanks, j

    2. Well ive just finished the last chapter and there i left my comments then this one pops up…hell im reading it as fast as Alice is working!!lol so really enjoyed both posts love the drama!

    3. my prayers are with B&T as well and with Alice, i hope Alice will be able to pull it off and B&T need to go home and spend some time together

    4. a lot of minds can think better than just one..even if that one belong to snake Helena..please dont let this shit mess it up Annas adoption..great chappy post soon thanks :o)

    5. Go Alice, go Alice, go Alice! And Dana, and Shane!!

I’m a little nervous about the Bette’s adoption. If Helena can’t get Bette with these articles, she’ll dig for other things to hurt her, like the adoption…

Thanks, Jwet. Looking forward to the next one.

    6. Poor Dana, not really certain why she is funny. But thankfully, she is always somewhere nearby to help ease the tension.

It’s good to see Alice use her powers for good and not evil. Well, Helena might think differently.

Tina may have been annoyed the she and Bette didn’t get a chance to talk, but it was an unusual day with many fires to put out. Maybe she remembered that on her way back to the MYV.

Nice to see that Jack and Bette didn’t get into it. I’m not sure how many casualties would have come out of that.

Reverend Pillary is a rather formidable man in his own way. A father figure of sorts, but with a keen eye for social dynamics. A razor sharp insight, as well.

The sound of the trap snapping shut on Helena is going to be deafening.

    7. JWet,

And the intrigue deepens, I adore the way you give a meager morsel then create more mystery to perplex and puzzle your audience with. You are a true master of the written word.

The unspoken commitment to each other is wondrous portrayed in this chapter. Dana and Shane have just gotten on with the job at hand and along with Alice are attempting to extol Bette and vilify the real villain of these editorial pieces.

True friendship always comes out when there is a danger to the group and these gals are circling the wagons while sending out scouts to see where the next attack will come from.

Trust Dana’s comic timing to ease and lighten the mood. Could this become a new career for her? Official alleviator and court jester. How good would she look in the outfit? Would Alice be her sour princess?

Bette and Tina are still communicating even if in a truncated manner. Now is the time to get on, do the right thing and focus on the important family issues of the day. Anna’s adoption and Irene’s wish to stay in the US need legal assistance so Jack better earn his wages and get them sorted.

Tina is stepping up the plate and with Jackie’s and the Reverend’s good advice will weather this storm and promote the truth about Bette’s involvement with MYV foundation.

Kit’s reaction was fantastic, all fire and brimstone. Here’s hoping HelCat doesn’t frequent the Planet to soon as she may be wearing the coffee instead of drinking it.

Thank you as always and I’ll wait patiently for your next installment.

      Your Loyal Fan.

    8. Another great chapter mate – the tangled web has been wound so tight that it is going to take some unravelling but you are doing it with finesse, as always.

Can’t wait to read Alice’s article and I’m sure she will make that pedestal for SHSL just a little higher!!

    9. Hey Jwet, I’m now getting a chance to read and comment. Don’t be too upset with me about Chicago, I didn’t have much time for anything non-work related. Though I had access to e-mail, there were too many events to allow for any personal leisure time. Travelling to 3 states in 5 days isn’t much fun when you have to be up by 6:30AM and not seeing the hotel room until 11 at night. Though most of the conference was in Chicago, we had to make trips to Indiana for tours and then to Lake Geneva in Wisconsin to wrap it up. The build up to, the actual time and the days following the trip have been extremely busy and now I’m playing catch up in the office as we’re preparing for our Internal Auditors in November (pray for me!) So if you don’t get any comments from me I do hope you understand. So how far from Chicago are you?

    10. The posse is here… bump, bump, bump, la bump, bump, bump, bump, la bump, bump, bump, bump, bump…..lone ranger and the posse to the rescue!

I wish I know some lone ranger quotes, but I don’t…..but from my favorite Star Wars movie – Empire Strikes Back – by Yoda “do, or do not; there is no try”.

Needless to say, this is nice; really nice.

      Thanks for sharing!
