    But what’s the hurry have you knocked her up or something?

    Bette was lost in thought so she was startled when Kit kissed her on the cheek before dropping into a chair across from her.   “It is off the chain around here lately.” Kit complained.  “We hit record profits this past month and we are not even in our busy season.”

     

    “Sounds like partnering with Helena has been good for you.”  Bette said grudgingly.  While she tolerated Helena for Tina and Alice’s sake some part of her was always remembered this woman had touched Tina.   It didn’t matter to her that she had been with Jodi some elemental part of her always reacted to Helena as a rival.

     

    “It has been” Kit ignored the hostility that always laced Bette’s voice when she spoke of Helena.  “She has totally revamped the menu and the kitchen is making us some serious money.” 

     

    “So no problems from Dimbo?”

     

    “Actually a lot of folks come here for dinner before going there or stop here for a bite or a quiet drink at the end of the evening.  Having a women’s club down the block is boosting business not hurting it.  Cindy is running SheBar now and we are talking about doing an event together.”

     

    “What kind of event?”

     

    “Maybe some music…jazz or blues.”

     

    Kit had that beat in her head look on her face so Bette just waited.  “So what brings you by? I haven’t seen my niece in almost a week.”  Kit frowned.  “If you all moving to the West Side is going to mean I get to see baby girl less we are going to have a problem.”

     

    “We are just settling in” Bette laughed at the fierce tone. “She was just accepted to the preschool we really want for her which is right down the road so you will hardly notice that we are a little further out than before.” 

     

    “Good” Kit was satisfied. She still didn’t know what was going on but when she looked up and saw Tina and Angelica come through the door she knew she was about to find out.  “Momma, Auntie Kit” Angelica’s face lit up as she dashed across the room to get scooped up by Momma and then rested in her Auntie’s arms.

    13. I am glad that Tina stood up to Kit for Bette, I really think it is true that sometimes what Kit says and does hurts Bette than Melvin ever did. I am so excited to see how this story continues.

    17. Hey Kelika, Am loving the loving in this new adventure. Bette and Tina are just so right together. Doc Wilson was great in giving them all the options. Then meeting the gang and revealing some of their good news ans plans. Great to see Tina taking Kit aside and explaining how things are. Kit admitted her mistake and showed her joy at the prospects of Bette and Tina’s child. Delicious drama. More please. May thanks for these great two chapters. Your Loyal Fan.

    20. I’m sure you know that this isn’t so way out. British scientists think that they have found a way to produce viable sperm from either women or men’s bone marrow cells. So its not so farfetched. Kelika: you know I love this story–but thought I’d just tell you again! Have a great weekend.Lin
