For the Love of You, Revisited post 19

“I intend to put to rest this fantasy that you have that you are single later this afternoon.” Bette said looking at the clock and seeing it was well past one am.  “I think you need to make me an honest woman considering my condition. What would Melvin say?”

“He would say Ms. Kennard this is my daughter’s child and the male who fathered it.  A child needs its father.”

    “And you would say?”

“That I will be there for any child I father.”  Again she smoothed her hand across the brunette’s belly. “Dad” she said testing the sound of it. “I’m going to be a father.”

“Surreal” they said in unison before falling asleep each lost in their shared dream.

The nightmare of Jodie the night before evaporated on the morning of their wedding.  Everyone went into high gear right after breakfast.  The caterers were on site, the florist, the music, sound and lighting specialists.  It resembled a location shoot.  Bette, Tina and Angelica went for a long walk along the beach and by the time they returned their home had been transformed.

“Pretty house” Angie smiled looking at the arbor overflowing with red roses that framed a walkway to the patio.  Everything sparkled, the windows, the plants, the sky, it was a picture perfect day.   The front door opened and as if on cue Alice, Shane, Kit and Jenny emerged and stood like linebackers barring entry.

They had on identical dark sunglasses and folded their arms as they waited for the trio to reach the steps to the front porch.  Susan, Helena’s security chief must have alerted them Tina thought as she glimpsed her speaking into a collar mike before moving to a different position.  Tina was used to security on set but not at her home.

“Time’s up.” Kit spoke for the crew.  “You two won’t be seeing one another again until the ceremony. Alice and Jenny, you take Tina.  Shane and I have Bette and Angie.”

Before they could protest Tina was led away and Shane and Kit gathered up Bette and Angelica.

The guests began to arrive shortly after four.  The champagne flowed and the hors d’ oeuvres were varied, unusual and plentiful.  Tina sent Bette a special tray of chocolate covered strawberries; cheeses and alcohol free champagne as well as a dry white alcohol free wine.

    1. Damn, I just knew it would stop short of the wedding. Kelika, I think that this story is brilliant in its concept and execution. Please post again soon!

    2. Really enjoying the story. You don’t seem to be stuck now. Yes it is longer than the original and surpasses the original, and i thought it was fabulous. Please keep writing and showing your love and affection for “Our girls,” we love it and love you for it. Post when you can.

    3. That was very thoughtful of Tina, actually, not to knock Hels’ block off at the insinuation that Bette isn’t good enough for her… I jest. I think a lot of Helena, I do. And I’m glad Tina said what she did to Helena. That should lay it to rest between them now, though, forever, I hope. Thanks for the post, kel.

    4. Ditto Rau, I am just loving it. Helena definately needs to give it a rest. Regardless what happened between them, Tina always belonged with Bette and visa versa. :o).

    5. I am glad that Tina laid it on the line with Helena. Helena was special to her but Bette would always be the woman that Tina wanted and needed. Can’t wait for the wedding to take place.

    6. No body is in the right mind would stand in those two’s way, Helena has to let go, or she will have to face Bette, and I am not sure the result of that encounter will be any different from what it was with Jodi. The wedding sounds surreal and I know that it will be a day to remember for the rest of their lives whenever they face troubles, it’ll be something that will warm their hearts and remind them of the love that they have for each other. Thank you so much, you are brilliant and still one of the best.Love
