    Firefighters Dilemma pt2/2

Dana made quick work to saw half way through the limb which was encumbering to say the least, it was a task that wasn’t made easy by the heavy Fire coat which was zipped and fastened across her body, nomex hood which was tucked into the collar of the jacket-in hopes that the cat didn’t decide to attack, and thick leather gloves. She pulled the saw free once she got to the desired depth of the cut and gave the order to ‘pull’.

Alice and Josh immediately began tugging on the ropes and pole to bring the branch towards the yard. With a quick popping and cracking of the wood, with the help of Dana pushing on the branch, the limb broke free and started to fall slowly while being pulled in.

The cat did not take kindly to this act of craziness, and when the branch got about five feet from reaching the ground below-it jumped from the tree limb and made a beeline for Alice.

Alice screamed and took off at a slow jog, arms flailing, and stumbled due to the added weight of fire gear. The cat made an effortless attempt to catch her and climbed up her fire pants. The blond quickly let out another yell as she collapsed to the ground squirming to get the clawing feline away.

Dana made haste at getting down the ladder to help her wingman. She closed her eyes and grabbed the cat, holding it away from her body as it squirmed, scratched, and bit her fire coat.

Dana yelled at Josh who was standing in shock, flabbergasted “What do you want me to do with it!?”

“Put him down.” Was the only thing he could manage while running back up onto the porch

Dana did as instructed and the cat took off running down over the hill. "At least we got him down."

"Can we leave now?" Alice asked from her back, still lying on the ground

    *******************************************************

Alice spun herself in the big leather office chair as she continued to tell the events of the evening to the chief "Soooo, we hop into the trusty OLD rescue truck and proceed to make our way through the winding roads and steep hills. By the time we reach the residence the truck is about ready to puke and call it quits so we decided to just come to a rolling stop in their front yard. But, just as we expected, the old truck had enough and back fired SO LOUD," waving her heads dramatically and clutching her chest "that a majority of the surrounding neighbors came running out onto their front porches holding their chests and gasping…"
