    Everything to Everybody Chptr. 40

Bette laid back as Tina sat on the floor admiring all the pictures of Bette and Mel.

"Baby, where was this one taken?"

"Oh my god," she chuckled. " That is down by the rocks on the beach. We were pirates, see the eye patch." Bette admired the picture for a little while longer and then handed it back down to Tina. Bette’s eyes were falling fast, so she closed them and let sleep overtake her. Tina turned around and saw that Bette was laying down on the couch sound asleep. She was finally asleep and Tina didn’t want to disturb that. So she went and got a blanket from the bedroom and covered Bette.

While Bette was asleep she decided to explore the house a little bit. While she was in one of the bedrooms she looked around and saw that this must’ve been Mel’s room. The old toys and the way the room looked like every little boys fantasy. But by the look of the clothes in the closet and the new toys mixed in, she also saw that this was now Melito’s room. Tina was in the hallway when she heard someone knock on the door. She rushed to the door hoping she would make it in time for them not to ring the doorbell and wake up Bette. She swung the door open and saw Carmen standing there with a grin on her face the size of Cincinnati .

"I wanted to knock to make sure I wasn’t disturbing anything. And from the way you’re breathing I’m guessing I did already, so I’ll be goin’…" Carmen turned laughing but was stopped when Tina grabbed her arm and pulled her inside the house.

"No look if you guys still need your privacy I can come back and…" Carmen stopped whining when Tina pointed towards the couch where Bette was slightly snoring. "What did you do, kill her?" Carmen smilingly asked. But she quickly dodged a smack from Tina.

    "Anyways, what ya doin’?"

"Nothing just looking around the house. Would you like to take a walk with me down to the beach?"

"Sure. You sure she won’t wake up and…"

"She’s gonna be out for a while." Tina interrupted.

    1. Don’t why, but I feel so touched when Tina is finally able to love herself and love Bette unconditionally because of Bette’s unconditional love. That’s so pure.

    2. Loving yourself and your body seems to be the hardest thing to do for most people. Tina finally took that step and now can except Bette’s love and return that same love to Bette.

    3. Tina has self acceptance of her body and that is a beautiful thing. ( not that it would be too hard to have self acceptance of a body that gorgeous. LOL) But I think no matter how other’s may view us, each of us needs to love ourselves first, before we can allow anyone else in. Beautiful chapter and a great reminder to all of us.
