Drowning 37
"Actually, I don’t have a clue what you’re talking about." Julia said, chuckling, trying to lighten Dana’s mood.
"Oh yeah, you wouldn’t, would you?" Dana said, chuckling softy at herself. "Alice always says that I live in my own world and forget that others don’t know what’s going on in head."
"So, Dana, are you going to tell me what you’re talking about?"
"Well, if you’re up to listening, I could use the friendly ear."
—
"How did we finish both bottles? I don’t remember drinking both bottles." Tina said, lifting both bottles, one after the other, to make sure that they were indeed empty. Sadly, they were.
"No worries, TK, I spy a mini bar!"
"Alice, we shouldn’t hit that, should we?"
"Hey, I’m on an expense account, so open that baby up and get us something to drink."
"I’m not sure Jules would really appreciate this."
"What, her star reporter and her favorite girl who is somehow just a friend, sharing in a drink, she won’t mind at all."
"I am not her favorite girl." Tina said as she as was rifling through the min bar. "Look, I found a half size bottle of bad wine and it’s only 20 dollars, look, there are two. What else do we need?"
"I can’t think of a thing. And of course you’re her favorite girl. Don’t even pretend that you don’t know that."
"Seriously, Al, it’s not like that. Julia and I are just good friends."
"Right, just friends. So Tina, tell me, is it Bette or Julia that has you here with me tonight?"
"What do you mean? Neither of them told me to come here."
"I’m not asking you who told you to come, silly, I’m asking you which one of them are avoiding. Don’t get me wrong, T, I’m glad you’re here, but it is a bit strange for you to ‘stop off’ in DC on your way back to LA."
Tina rolled her eyes, knowing she was busted. "Ugh, I don’t know how to answer that. I think it’s everything. I’m just not ready to go back yet. I mean, I’m happy I have the chance to move back, I’ve missed my life in LA so much, but I’m just not ready to start a new life in LA."

Lucia, you deserve a round of applause for continuing this story since its debut in April, 05. I, for one love this story and am thrilled to know that you will are working on an ending. Great scene with A & T trying to fish out each other’s story over drinking. I am with 25justagirl & capesquad, I would rather see T ending up with “Juwia” just because Julia had shown her constant love and support to T & Cara. Plus T had already said that B did not do equal well. To me, in this case, J & T were better fit. Back to A & D. I hope D could demonstrate to A soon that she was trustworthy and committed. Of course A’s apprehension was with merit after all the heartaches D had given A. I do not blame A for staying away to figure things out. All and all it’s a great day to see you posted. Thank you.
I am so thrilled to see a new chapter from you on this great story!! I love how you have thrown Alice and Tina together. They really are what the other one needs right now. Hopefully Alice will open up to Tina in the next chapter. If they need it, I will send them over a couple more bottles of wine. And I am glad that Dana and Julia are talking. Maybe that will help Dana understand why Alice needs a little space right now. I love that Julia was willing to call Alice back from the DC assignment. “And not for the fun use of handcuffs either” — Hee! Thank you so much for the update, lucia! And, no worries, it was excellently done, as usual!!
Wow. I had given up hope that we would see another chapter. Thanks so much for returning to share your story. Come back soon, OK?
Yay…………. you finally posted!!! I’m just so happy right now…:-D Usually, I’m firm believer that Tina and Bette belong together, but this time I want Tina to end up with Julia. I can’t wait for the next chapter, hopefully there will be more Danish… Thank you for continuing this. Maybe you’ll update “Ghost of Christmas Past” too?
Lucia posted. (does happy saturday morning coffee dance.) Tina is so adorable. Loved the description of her examining each wine bottle one by one to be sure they were empty… You’ve convinced me she and Julia and Cara belong together. Still… i’m wondering about those breakfasts at the planet with Bette some mornings…oh well, what would we do with out some ‘dyke drama’ occasionally? As for ms. Alice… she is the queen of deflection. sigh…. next chapter, right?p.s. what season 5? Was Alice in Season 5?
Wow. What did I do to deserve your story? lol… I’m so happy! I understand Alice needing time. I just wish Alice will realize no matter what happened, Dana’s heart was right there with Alice…. And I really wish that she’ll see that she loves Dana, only Dana. You’ve convinced me about Jule and Tina, seriously. =) Good job. And PPS!!
As I recollect, Lucia, I was part of the judges’ panel that awarded you a prize for this fanfic. After said prize was awarded, it disappeared, pronto. Ditto for LastKid and her fabulous “Tina, Tiny Pieces” and another fic that I loved that was a B&T detective fic. >>You know what I learned from that experience? NO MORE FANFIC AWARDS! They seem to have an inhibiting effect upon the writers. What gives? I’m glad you’re back and I hope you’ll bring Lastkid out of the woodwork with you. I really like this fic a lot and I’m glad you’ve returned to it! Thanks! BTW – I like Julia but Bette all the way for me and Tina. Thanks!
I love it! I just found your story because I just found this amazing website and I read your entire story in two days. In fact, it was very hard to do work because I wanted to read the story. Please post soon. I can’t wait!
