Drowning Chapter 37
"Hey Tina, "Alice said walking into the hotel room, "I got us two bottles of white, both already cold."
Tina walked out of the bathroom, hair still wet from the shower, "That sounds perfect. I think we could both use a few glasses tonight. I just need a few more minutes in here. Do you want to order up the room service?"
"Sure." Alice replied, already studying the overpriced room service menu.
Thirty minutes later, the friends were sitting comfortable on the couch in the hotel room, sipping wine and munching on the food. Alice had ordered enough to feed a few more people, but argued the point that she had ordered more finger food type food, so that they could keep picking on it all evening without having to get up and get more food.
Though Alice was happy to have Tina here, she had been thinking of how daunting the next few days alone with only her thoughts would be she still wasn’t quite ready to talk about anything of substance.
She decided the best defense was a good offense. "So T, I’m very happy you’re here, so don’t get me wrong, but do you want to explain why you thought you needed a trip to DC on your way back to LA?"
Tina gave Alice a guilty look, "I don’t know, I just thought you could use the company."
"Right and I’m still here for the exciting nomination hearing." She replied as they both laughed, each knowing the other knew exactly why they were there.
"Alright, so neither of us really want to talk about any of real things floating around our heads, so what does that leave us, T?"
"The wine?" Tina replied, picking up one of the bottles of wine.
"Works for me, filler up."

Dana walked into The Planet, looking for Shane. She was hoping that the hairdresser would be there during her afternoon break. Even though the two had just spent five hours on a flight, not to mention the few days before, Dana just needed someone who would understand. To her disappointment, she didn’t see anyone she knew in the café. After getting her coffee, she sat down in a corner with a book, hoping it would take her mind off of Alice. Unfortunately, fifteen minutes later, she was still staring at the same page.

Lucia, you deserve a round of applause for continuing this story since its debut in April, 05. I, for one love this story and am thrilled to know that you will are working on an ending. Great scene with A & T trying to fish out each other’s story over drinking. I am with 25justagirl & capesquad, I would rather see T ending up with “Juwia” just because Julia had shown her constant love and support to T & Cara. Plus T had already said that B did not do equal well. To me, in this case, J & T were better fit. Back to A & D. I hope D could demonstrate to A soon that she was trustworthy and committed. Of course A’s apprehension was with merit after all the heartaches D had given A. I do not blame A for staying away to figure things out. All and all it’s a great day to see you posted. Thank you.
I am so thrilled to see a new chapter from you on this great story!! I love how you have thrown Alice and Tina together. They really are what the other one needs right now. Hopefully Alice will open up to Tina in the next chapter. If they need it, I will send them over a couple more bottles of wine. And I am glad that Dana and Julia are talking. Maybe that will help Dana understand why Alice needs a little space right now. I love that Julia was willing to call Alice back from the DC assignment. “And not for the fun use of handcuffs either” — Hee! Thank you so much for the update, lucia! Yay…………. you finally posted!!! I’m just so happy right now…:-D Usually, I’m firm believer that Tina and Bette belong together, but this time I want Tina to end up with Julia. I can’t wait for the next chapter, hopefully there will be more Danish… Thank you for continuing this. Maybe you’ll update “Ghost of Christmas Past” too?
Lucia posted. (does happy saturday morning coffee dance.) Tina is so adorable. Loved the description of her examining each wine bottle one by one to be sure they were empty… You’ve convinced me she and Julia and Cara belong together. Still… i’m wondering about those breakfasts at the planet with Bette some mornings…oh well, what would we do with out some ‘dyke drama’ occasionally? As for ms. Alice… she is the queen of deflection. sigh…. next chapter, right?p.s. what season 5? Was Alice in Season 5?

As I recollect, Lucia, I was part of the judges’ panel that awarded you a prize for this fanfic. After said prize was awarded, it disappeared, pronto. Ditto for LastKid and her fabulous “Tina, Tiny Pieces” and another fic that I loved that was a B&T detective fic. >>You know what I learned from that experience? NO MORE FANFIC AWARDS! They seem to have an inhibiting effect upon the writers. What gives? I’m glad you’re back and I hope you’ll bring Lastkid out of the woodwork with you. I really like this fic a lot and I’m glad you’ve returned to it! Thanks! BTW – I like Julia but Bette all the way for me and Tina. Thanks!
