“4 days ago.” Came Tina’s reply.

“What do you want to do now?”

“I don’t want abortion or adoption besides, I’m too far along for the first option.”

“What about school?” Bette questioned.

“I don’t know. Tomorrow my mom and I are going to the police. Will you be there to?” She asked.

Bette inhaled.

“Sure. I will be there for you.” Bette said. Suddenly she asked. “When do they come and check that you are sleeping?”

Tina didn’t know why Bette asked that but gave her an answer anyway. “10PM. Why?”

“I’m going to hide in the closet and I will sleep here with you tonight. I won’t leave you alone. No way in hell.” Bette told her determent.

“Really?” Tina couldn’t believe how amazing her girlfriend was. For the first time this evening, she smiled. She was so relieved. She was scared ‘he’ was coming to her room tonight.

‘Yeah… I am not leaving my girlfriend alone in a time like this.” Bette said and kissed Tina softly.

They still had 40 minutes before Bette had to go hide. Tina went silent, just enjoying being close to Bette, enjoying all the safety and warmth Bette’s embrace brought . She didn’t know what to do. She couldn’t do this all by herself. She wanted someone to help her. She needed someone to help her.

Bette broke the silence. “I will be there for you… all the way if you want me to.”

Tina looked up in surprise. “What?”

“If you keep the child, I will be there for you. I know we aren’t a couple that long but I can’t just leave you. I really care for you and I will not leave you alone. If you need someone to help you, I want to be that person.”

Tina didn’t believe what she heard. She hoped Bette would still feel this way when she told her the last piece of information but she wasn’t ready to tell that right now. A little later maybe.

“I am so scared Bette. I told my mother what happened. She flew all the way from Italy and she took me to the gynecologist who confirmed that I am pregnant. She also told me that abortion wasn’t an option. I am too far along. I didn’t want to do that in the first place but now I don’t even have the option. I didn’t know how to tell you.” Tina told her girlfriend.
