    “Mother T’Pau” Hera spoke deferentially. “Is there a place for Hephaestus on Vulcan?” She frowned at the note of hope she heard in her own voice.  “Rachael of Romulus informed us that we could only return by overwhelming force. Is this not correct?”

     

     

    “Rachael of Romulus?” Rau exploded, vowing silently to put an end to the treachery, which seemed endless.   The entire Romulan contingent muttered angrily at this latest revelation.

     

    “Yes” Hera confirmed narrowing her eyes at the response this disclosure engendered.  “In fact she dissuaded us from approaching through formal channels due to the acrimony that still exists between the Romulan and Vulcan lines.  We were surprised to find Romulus standing between us and Vulcan when Rachael assured us of the support of Romulus in our desire to return home.”

     

     

    There was a buzz of conversation as the various representatives from Federation worlds absorbed this bit of information.  The Romulan officers present were obviously beside themselves.  Mangus the highest-ranking officer of the Romulan force rose and approached the Queens of Romulus.

     

     

    “Majesties” he bowed deeply and stood before them.  “We had no awareness of this particular treachery.  I offer my resignation for failing the Crown.” He fully expected to be dismissed, as he should be as Queen Rhaina had come upon the insurrection plot of Princess Rachael while on Romulus. While he was of independent mind and would not have followed the Princess it was poor judgment that he had attended in the first place.  He had convinced himself that being aware was better than second hand information.

     

     

     

    “Your resignation is declined, First Captain of the Romulan Interior Force.  Clean your house and we will speak no more of this.” Rheana responded curtly and the look in her eyes told him that she knew of his error and that this was his last chance.

     

     

     

    “Understood” Mangus bowed smartly and returned to his seat, his eyes blazing with purpose.

     

     

    Rheana addressed Hera.  “My sister and I only returned to Romulus and Rhemus a short time ago.  The Crown of Romulus has been in regency for far to long.  We will amend that situation now that we are returned” Rheana paused.  “Romulus has been a member of the United Federation of Planets for the last two hundred years.  Our relationship with Vulcan is not as close as it could be but we recognize our bond one to the other and are determined to improve our relations.”

    1. We began this story believing that Captain Elizabeth Kirk was the VIP aboard the Enterprise. Surprisingly, we find that Christina is to the manor born. Elizabeth didn’t know she was marrying a real queen. Thanks!

    10. All this talk of queens reminds me of my years in NYC. I not only saw lots of queens, I also lived in Queens for 7 years. I knew that Rachael would be trouble. What are they going to do to that troublemaker? And what will it take for Christina to accept the crown of Rhemus?

    14. Every time I see that you have posted, i really react with “OOOh, a new chapter.” I am always so excited to see where you are taking us this time. And every time, at some point in my reading, I remember that Christina has pointy ears and giggle. You know, you can extend this indefinitely, like the show did. A hunt for Bette’s mother?
