Daughters of Kirk and Spock, Resumes post 14
There was an audible gasp at the direct insult. Breath was held as Rhaina and Rau beside her struggled to contain their tempers.
“Mangus, First Captain of the Royal Guard, if you were the melded Prince of Rhemus would you stand for the disrespect shown your Consort?”
Mangus’ eyes blazed, “I would not, Majesty.”
“What would you do?” Rhaina led him down the path Christina travelled.
“I would…pay my respect to the Crown and shake the dust of this world from my feet and that of my Consort.” He declared vehemently. “It is the proper response of a well bred Romulan, honor then duty.”
“The Princess Christina is a well bred Romulan who lives as a Vulcan. The Princess is a curious mixture of logic and passion. You are fools to have disrespected her. She will honor me as her mother yet you may never know her as your Sovereign and that is a loss beyond measure.”
Mangus rose and knelt before the Queen. “Majesty I am the servant of the Crown and the Princesses of Romulus and Rhemus.”
“Arise, First Captain of the Empire. You serve at my pleasure.”
Mangus rose and stood beside her.
Rogan flanked him on the opposite side.
One by one the officers spoke with their Queen and one by one they stood beside her. She took on every question and won every heart except two.
“Rachael, daughter of Rebecca, Princess of Romulus and Rhemus, you will never ascend the throne even should the Crown Princess of Rhemus never return. You lack honor and one without honor can never rule our worlds.”
“Aunt Rhaina, I am the daughter of your sister. My blood is my honor.”
“Blood alone does not determine honor. What you and your consort Terrance do not understand is that the true Romulan heart is stirred by honesty and integrity even when dealing with an opponent. ‘When words are without honor, speech becomes noise.’ Spock of Vulcan said once in my hearing. The heart of Vulcan is not so different than the heart of Romulus and Rhemus. In my word you find my honor, not in my blood.”
Rau blinked back the tears of pride she felt in serving her Queen. In a voice choked with emotion she spoke. “Hail to the Queen.”
“Hail to the Queen” came the thunderous response.
“Commander” Rhaina found the deep brown eyes she had grown to trust. “I believe you were accompanying me on my tour of home lands so long not seen. Do you wish to continue our walk or stay with your comrades?”
“My place is at your side Majesty.” Rau answered without hesitation.
“Inform the palace steward that there will be a quadroon of extra guests at dinner tonight for the officers and their companions.”
“Majesty” was uttered multiple times with true respect as she took her leave.

I’m writing my update this evening :) However, I would much rather read the talented writings of you and others! fantastic update!!! SK/C
OMG….I think I’m on a high….another update…Thank you Kelika! So, Rau is definetly in the running. Loved the way Rhaina won the officers over to her one by one. I’m delighted to hear you are trying to get into a daily rhythm for posting. If you do, I’ll be into a daily rhythm for reading.
K didnt get a chance to post on the last chapter but let me say that The Queen Rocks!!!!!!
Kelika, I am so amazed by your story. Everytime I watch Star Trek, your story comes to mind.. I could not but help but watch Kirk and Spock in a different light (lol).. thanks for a wonderful update.
Why, yes, Kelika, I WAS reading your mind. And because I have honor, I shall reveal no more. Hmmm-ummm! I swear, that Rachael is going to be trouble. That’s all the prognosticating I’ll do tonight.
Well done as long as Rau is at her side the Queen will be served well. When duty calls Spock she will need a strong person at her side. PPS
Rhiana rocks! Loved her poise and eloquence. How can Rau resist her? I wonder if we will be privy to the remainder of their walk? Hmmm, now that could be a juicy tidbit for tomorrow. Rachel needs to be taken to task by her mother – I hope Rhiana speaks with her sister…
I don’t think I’ve ever seen an entire episode of Star Trek and I know I’ve never seen any of the movies…but I really love this story! You write it so well. Thanks.
Heh, I never thought there was anything Brit about me! Rhaina looks like she has things well under control, except that troublesome Rachel and her pal. Thanks for continuing this great tale for us.
Queen Rhaina knows how to lead. She voiced her concerns and the officers made their decisions by choice. Sounds like a new couple may have started.
Can’t wait for dinner!
That was great and Rhaina is awesome!
Hmmm… Peggy’s called her out, but I don’t think Rachael’s going to be done with her plotting quite yet. I anticipate more trouble from her. Great post, thanks Kelika.
Great update Kelika. Love Queen Rhaina.. I wouldn’t mind her ruling me! :) I’m so glad you’re going to try to post every day.. looking forward to it. Thank you :)
Hi Kelika, Loved that Rhiana stood up for her position and showed the dissenters way she is who she is. Her nobility shone through her words and acted as a call to arms. Rachael is very dangerous and will be trouble. Now I really can’t wait until you continue this terrific tale. Many thanks and much appreciation from Your Loyal Fan. PS Live long and propser.
Hey there great diplomacy there. Rau is very diplomatic and useful to Rhaina. Great story. Thx.
SMOOTH Rau, u have the lady in your hand. Very good move Rhaina. Excellent story as usual. Thank u.
Love to see that Rau can both make Rhaina feel safe and protected, and at the same time isn’t afraid to show her emotions when her eyes filled with tears. Love Tina’s mamma!!!
Wonderful update!! Calling for MORE!!PPS
Ah, Kelika. I do so love this series you are writing. Very special, especially for me who knows nothing about Star Trek. You have made me a bigger fan of yours than I thought was possible! Thanks for continuing this wonderful saga. Best to you and yours–Lin
