City Of Angels Chapter 5: Reflections on a tortured soul.

“Yeah…I remembered you said something like that.” Shane said. Carmen sighed as she turned around and looked Shane in the eyes.

“What I didn’t tell you is that after I finished my prayer, Elena wandered away from me and she met some one.”

“Your point is?” Shane asked. “It’s not uncommon that people meet other people. I mean she… “

“Shane I think she met Dana.” Carmen said abruptly interrupting Shane. She could see the information processing through Shane’s mind after what she just told her. She didn’t know what Shane was thinking about after the bomb that she dropped. She always had this mix expression to her where she could be thinking about something sad; yet appear happy on the outside, Shane as always a spontaneous person. And sometimes very unpredictable. Which was another one of Shane’s attributes that Carmen fall in love with. But right now, Shane’s expressions were a complete mystery to her, and it was knawing away at her.

“Shane please say something…this is killing me.:

“I don’t find this funny Carmen.” Shane said as she dropped her fork onto her plate. She got up from the table and started to pace back and forth looking very uneasy. “I don’t see how you could Joke about something like this.”

“Shane, I’m not joking. I saw her to.”

“Carmen…stop it.” Shane said again. This time more forcefully, as she pointed her finger at the tattooed DJ. Carmen gently took Shane’s hand into hers as she stared deeply into her eyes. Her eyes where just begging Shane for her to believe what she ways saying.

“I swear to God Shane. I’m not lying.” Carmen replied. Shane saw the truth and sincerity that was in Carmen’s eyes. Shane was always a good judge of character and was some one who could read people very well. She always knew when Carmen was sincere and when she wasn’t.

All the signs told Shane that Carmen was telling the truth. As badly as she wanted to believe Carmen, She still found it hard to believe that people can just come back from the dead.
