    Tina released herself from Diane’s embrace and sat back, accepting the cool glass of water from Jules with a smile at the younger woman.  After a few gulps, she set the glass down, and buried her face in her hands, murmuring from behind it, “She pushes herself to recover more quickly, so intent on getting

    Tina released herself from Diane’s embrace and sat back, accepting the cool glass of water from Jules with a smile at the younger woman.  After a few gulps, she set the glass down, and buried her face in her hands, murmuring from behind it, “She pushes herself to recover more quickly, so intent on getting things back to normal.  You know how driven she is ….”  She put her hands down on her lap and blew out a seemingly helpless breath,

    Jules knelt on the other side of Tina’s chair, crying now also.  “I’m really, really sorry, Tina.  I shouldn’t have contacted Bette last night.  I should have known better.  I didn’t know what to do … and I just automatically tried to reach her, as I tend to about everything else.   This is my fault.  My fault.”

    Tina gave her a half-smile, then turned to look at both Diane and Jules, in turn.  “You girls will have to help me, you know.  Help me with Bette.  She’s still not 100%, and she doesn’t want to acknowledge her limits.”

    Diane and Jules nodded, taking turns to kiss Tina on her cheeks, and hugging her to express their solidarity with her.

    After a couple of minutes, Tina stood up.  “C’mon, help me set the breakfast table.”

    She shook her head and shrugged her shoulders in response to their looks of surprise, saying, “What can I say?  Bette whipped up some eggs benedicts for us.  Made cappuccino and everything. The food is plated already;  in the warming oven.”

    Jules and Diane looked at each other, feeling even guiltier than before.  The brunette must have gotten home earlier than she’d planned from her jog, since she would have had to leave much earlier in order to get to The Play Room in time to close it.  And, knowing Bette, she probably figured she’d do something productive to fill the time once she returned home.

    No wonder Tina was feeling at odds this morning.  On the one hand, pissed that Bette would have woken so much earlier, foregoing sleep that she needed to help her recovery.  On the other hand, touched by Bette’s thoughtfulness, preparing one of Tina’s favorite breakfast meals, and making some for Jules and Diane, also.

    4. I may be wrong, but it feels like you may be setting up the story for some drama with Dianne and Jules…. (at the bar with the guys and the party).
      And the way you ended here … yes it implies “sexy time” ……… BUT…….

      • Yes, you will see chapters soon. Just an insane travel schedule right now (or for much of the year so far, actually), from Acapulco to Beijing, Berlin to Colombo — crazy. There was a slight pause for Memorial Day, but otherwise…. Have not meant to keep readers hanging, and am going to post ASAP. I really like how the outline of this book is working out, so please let me know what you all think as the rest of the book unfolds. Thanks!

          I love to read a good book as long as it is entertaining. I see you are introducing two more new characters Diane and Jules into this new series I hope Bette and Tina aren’t fading into the background… Maybe Logan steps in uses Diane to uncover the mysterious guy who tried to hurt Bette and Tina? Finally my thought is persuading Tom to making a contribution by adding a fourth member to their family :)
