Tina was carrying in the last box, a smile on her face. Bette and her had spent quite some time moving in her stuff to the new apartment. First of all, all her things had to come from the other side of the country, so there was a lot of waiting involved as well. Secondly, Tina had lots and lots of stuff. Too much stuff. And there was also her collection of books – fiction and otherwise. The otherwise consisted mostly of history and well, history’s long.
Bette never sighed or complained about the many heavy boxes, she always carried them with a smile on her face.
Tina was in another state of mind and never noticed the pretty blonde woman approaching her.
“Can I help you with that?”
Tina jumped up, startled at the sound. She turned around and smiled. “I’m sorry, what did you say?”
“I wondered if I could help you?”
“Oh, no, that’s okay. Thanks anyway.”
The woman extended her hand. “I’m Brenda. I take it you are my new neighbour?”
“Yes, this is actually the last box.”
“Congratulations! Do you facy men?”
Tina was momentarily stunned. She knew quite some straightforward people, but this was totally out of the blue. “Uhm… no. Why? Is that a problem?”
The woman chuckled. “Oh, most definitely not. The previous owners were scary straight people and you could hear them all the time. And the walls aren’t even thin! God, they were so loud!”
Tina had no idea how to respond to that and decided to just be civil and invite the woman in.
“Would you like some coffee?”
“That’d be great.”
“Never mind the mess.”
“Sure.”

Bette took out her key as she approached the door of ms Kennard’s apartment. She had just returned from her room to check again if everything was in place and had then headed back to see if she could help her girlfriend move her last stuff.
She went to the kitchen to throw the keys on the counter and frowned her eyebrows when she heard an unfamiliar voice. She also heard the typical sound of Tina’s laughter, only… it wasn’t very typical. She knew it immediately: Tina was faking it. Luckily, she was damn good at it.

Hi,dear sweet Gen! *waving* This was a great update. Now we find that B&T will be surrounded by an obnoxious outspoken neighbor and Bette will have the exes’ parade at College Campus. Seems like an interesting setting. Hehehe It will be great to watch them grow on their bond. After many years of hiding their feelings, this will be a good way to demonstrate how much they were meant to be together. Thanks for this magnificent update, dear friend. Hello Genner, Good to see Bette on the offence for a chagne. Brenda was a bit pushy and soon put in her place after Bette’s arrival. Just loved how Bette and Tina celebrated her removal from their home. I am sure there will be a lot of loving required to ease the pains of this day. I do hope so.
