    Tina whispered softly.

    Tina: Al, are you awake.

    The lump under the covers moved and Tina took that as a yes.

    Tina: Im sorry. I dont know what you saw or didnt see.

    Alice didnt respond.

    Tina: Al, please you cant be mad at me. Its justIugh!

    Tina sat on the edge of the bed at a loss for words.

    Tina: Al, I think, no, I know, that I love that woman.

    Alice poked her head out from under the covers?

    Alice: what?? How long have you known her, a day? And you love her? You know I support you Tina but I think love would be an awfully strong word at this point.

    Tina: Then what is it Al? What is that feeling you get when you see someone and your stomach fills with butterflies. When your heart races at the mere mention of their name? Explain to me what it is Im feeling when the thought of being without her for even a second could bring me to tears. What is that?

    Alice thought long and hard. She realized every thing Tina just said described perfectly the way she felt for her. She loved Tina. She always would. But at some point you have to learn that it just isnt meant to be. Love is truly the most beautiful, intense feeling in the world and yet it can be the most excruciating pain one has ever felt.

    Alice: Thats love TK.

    Alice hung her head low. Feeling awful and childish for closing the door on them like a jealous brat.

    Alice: Im sorry.

    Tina: Please dont apologize for your feelings. I cant possibly apologize for mine.

    Alice: When am I going to learn that you and I will be nothing more than friends?

    Tina lied down next to her best friend.

    Tina: I wish I had advice to give you, but Im pretty new at this. Just know that no matter where life takes us in this world you and I will always be together. We are sisters Al.

    Alice turned her eyes from Tina hoping she wouldnt sense her guilt. That run in with Bette was the one thing that could remove Tina from Alices life permanently. There was no way she was going to admit to it.

    10. Hello, just found your story today and read all of it. Wow! I must say, I’m not usually a fan of all the “Drama for your mama,” but yours is good. I must say, the first time I was reading I was eating Hot Fries, and with like ten of them in my mouth, my jaw dropped. I’m a little sick right now so I ended up coughing from the hot fries breath going down my lungs. After that, I almost chocked on my pound cake! Coughed that out… Okay, sorry for the long comment, but you’re doing well.
