Bette reached the tent in record time with Tina in tow and the other three girls were running behind trying to keep up. As soon as Bette and Tina entered the tent they both looked around in awe. The tent encompassed a HUGE arena with a large field in the middle and what looked like barriers or bunkers set up all over the field. Just then the lights went on and the couple got to see just how big the tented area really was.

Bette turned and gave Brian a nasty look. He seemed to have this uncanny ability to sneak up and catch her at inopportune times. Tina just squeezed her hand in comfort while Brian laughed and went back to stand with the boys. A referee walked in just then and gathered both teams together to explain the rules.

Okay people listen upthis is how this event is going to work

The referee turned and pointed towards the field. As he explained each aspect of the event a spotlight lit up the part of the field he was talking about.

This event is going to involve the entire team. One player from each team will be running the course trying to make it through to the other side while all the members from the opposing team, placed throughout the course behind the walls set up on the perimeter of the field, will be throwing paint covered sponges at them. The player must make it all the way through the course and grab the flag hanging on the pole at the far end of the course for time to stop. If the player is hit three times by the paint covered ball they are disqualified. The winner is the player who either completes the course in the fastest time or makes it the farthest before getting hit three times. Each member on the opposing team will have an unlimited amount of paint-covered balls to throw at the player, but the only rule is they cannot throw the balls over the barriers to hit the player. The hits may come from the front, side, or back but not the top. We will flip a coin to see which player goes first.
