Four days until inauguration –
Up from what feels like an underwater sleep, I roll over toward the sound of her whispering.
”Bette,” she says again. Under the glow of another century, she’s draped across a chaise longue, almost nude except for heels, almost close enough to touch, but not quite.
Lazily I answer – not the Jesus Christ! I think to myself – but instead, ”You look so…comfortable, sweetheart.”
”Very.” She turns her body slightly, showing me her breasts. ”I’ve been watching you sleep,” she says.
”Maybe a little unnerving,” I confess, while toying with the sheet that’s covering me, while edging into a different game with her.
”Would you like to watch me?” She rolls on her side and cradles one of her breasts before twisting her nipple hard.
”Dear God!” Blows out of me and I reach for a leftover glass of Scotch on the bedside table. ”I may get drunk all over again.”
”Earlier, there was a different kind of craving.” She circles and circles her nipples. ”Do you deny it?”
”Ah….no, I’ll admit that.”
”I caught a glimpse of you.” She leans forward on the chaise, her breasts disappearing from sight. ”Something hidden.”
I lift up my sheet and show her the scratch marks she left on my back. ”Not hidden, very real.”
”You brought that on yourself, or do you disagree?”
”Disagree?” I ache with the recent memory.
”With the pain?” Her quixotic smile lingers, while her hand moves to caressing her buttocks, before disappearing between her legs.
I close my eyes and the fantasies I’ve had for months about her begin to flash in small explosions inside my brain.
She interrupts my sexual reverie, ”No, no. It’s not allowed to look away.”
”You need to come over here.” With a pleading look, I motion her to bed.
Instead, she sits across from me and opens her legs a little wider, a little wider…the longer I stare. When her pink folds appear, I drop the Scotch on the table.
She traces her finger across herself. ”This is what you want, baby?”
Tossing aside the sheet I point to my lips. ”Come sit here. I have an idea for you.”
My hands on her waist, her knees beside my shoulders, I bury the tip of my nose in a perfect V of red hair and inhale her.

Very nice chapter, very hot too; I remember those days two months and a half ago, very stressed, if people had known five months ago what we know now (and what probably some of us always knew), probably history would have changed; so, let’s see how Dr. Bette Porter will show the truth behind the mental condition of this guy. Looking forward to the ‘Women’s March’ in your next chapter (I hope), and to see what you have prepared for us.

Dear Proteonomics,
As the real time news story of Christopher Steele’s dossier unfolds my awe and frustration is that first Jeb Bush’s campaign had the intel, and later they passed it onto Hillary Clinton, and, of course, we know the Obama White House got a copy, too. This happened in July! Meaning right after the conventions the FBI had the Steele report, as well!
In Countdown we’re likely not going to be chasing the Russian connections because Doctor Porter’s role is firmly in neuroscience. However, because they are so damaging and damning and of interest to me, I plan to weave them in, as the shocking revelations they are. As you noted, Dr Porter has another role to play by way of Trump’s mental disease. I hope you’ll stay tuned as she figures this mystery out.

Bibi, It seems both are nervously smitten, doesn’t it? In the beginning of this thriller, Maria is needed to show the investigative journalistic side of the unfolding mysteries that develop around the presidency. She is vital as this develops. I hope you’ll enjoy her even while enjoying Tina more!
Bette will meet Tina at the Women’s March, but only as an introduction and in passing. Until the story shifts, due to a series of plots developments, Bette will be off on forays with Maria figuring out how to get the story of Trump’s insanity into the forefront of news reporting. Then Tina’s role can be developed, but we’re not there, yet.
Tina is with an NGO that will fight Trump’s “anti-human life on earth” policies, to state them broadly! I’ve not decided which NGO yet, but I’m leaning toward an environmental/climate change NGO, because exploring that subject will take Bette out of Washington and into many places in America with Tina.
Please enjoy Maria, if possible. I am. Bette is and Nightingale will like her on their upcoming riding adventure.

Enjoyed the update. Glad that Bette will be able to let the CIA and FBI as well as the American people and the world know that the man is definitely unhinged. How people can still support him is beyond me. It is obvious that he is not ready or capable of doing this job. When his daughter was given an office in the West Wing, no pay and high security clearance that only means one thing to me and i.e., that she has the job of disemanating info in the security briefings that he does not understand. It has already been reported that he does not read anything. And his staff has told the various agencies to make their ibriefings ONLY ONE PAGE, with bullet points. Well DAMN, how does he expect to run the country with briefings of one page and not anything in depth. I shall leave this alone before I get us all in trouble. We are the laughing stock of the world and this country is in so much trouble. Thanks for posting.
Agreed! Whenever Ivanka enters a scene in this story I expect there be a witching-chill crusting the air.
In total, there are so many distressing things, it’s like deep pinball, if there is such a thing. One ever level your ball collides with obstacles too fantastic or grim to contemplate and then down a spiral hole you go to a deeper level that hits you emotionally. I’m writing this as a piece of storytelling to share with you all and to vent my own imagined meandering in down the rabbit hole.
So, let’s hope Dr Porter figures out a cool gizmo that will secretly take a scan of Trump’s brain while he’s unaware.
