Boundary of Fear and Love 3
Just break it down Alice. Youre a writer, there is a start, middle and end to everything. Next time you see yourself acting or reacting in a way you dont want to or you think is, what did you call it, smothering the hamster, figure what you felt right before it. If you do that enough, youll figure out whats causing it.
This is why I keep Bette around. She is handy sometimes.
OK. I can try that. Good Porter. I knew I kept you around for a reason. I said smiling at her, and an almost real smile for the first time today.
Have you tried talking to Dana about this?
Again, she does like to ask the obvious doesnt she? Yes, but it didnt go well. She called me my mother for Gods sake. Its strange. Normally, when you start a relationship and fall in love, you hope that person becomes your best friend. So when you start dating your best friend, you think that makes it that much easier. Its not easier, in case you were wondering?
Why do you think that?
Why, because you can say things to your best friend that you cant say to your girlfriend. You can use them as a sounding board, like Im doing right now. I couldnt have this conversation with Dana.
Again, this is only my opinion, but that right there is your problem. If you truly believe that you cant have a conversation like this with her, then you dont have a relationship. Youre just sleeping with your best friend. Im not saying the conversation is going to be easy, it can get ugly and painful. But Alice, you have a foundation that most new relationships never get. As ugly as any conversation gets, you know its based in love and trust. You can have an ugly conversation and still know it doesnt mean you arent loved.
Im trying to wrap my head around what she is saying. It makes sense. But seems a little too naive. But Bette isnt naive. So what the ***** do I do with this?
I know you are probably thinking that this is a little too simplistic of an idea. But think about. Most people lose their relationships because they can never get to the point where they can truly open up to someone and know they are safe. You can do that.

You better continue this story! If you dont, I might have to do something so drastic I cant even mention it here! And if that’s not enough incentive, this story is great and I loved Alice’s POV she had me cracking up.
About my comment from the last story, I like Lara also so I hope you wont be writing three little words also…unless they happen to be menage a trois…
I’m enjoying this, please please continue.
I usually don’t care for the first person POV stories but this I like, I like it a lot. Your good at it and your chapter flowed very well. Do continue.
“Damn! Mother’s Do know everything!” When I read this line I LMAO, it is so true–you really have such a knack for balancing humor with drama. Something I wish the real L Word was able to accomplish with this duo. I hope you continue with this story, it is defintely an interesting piece and I’m looking forward to seeing where you go with this. Plus, I like the POV–focusing on one characters thoughts is nice.
i agree… don’t leave us hanging. looking forward to your new post. :)
Late to the party again! I do agree though please continue. I like where you are going with this. I wonder if we can sneak something like this into Leisha’s copy of the script. she shows up for shooting and starts spouting off stuff about simplicity and relaxing into a relationship and everyone starts rapidly looking through their scripts to find it….
